Some trees aren't growing

Hello community!
Some weeks ago I started playing Animal Crossing City Folks. I kept a perfect town for 15 days days and received the golden watering can. Now I deforested all trees and wanted to plant fruit trees only. Sadly some trees aren't growing even though they should grow. I have read that it's necessary to plant trees with one free field in all directions. I did that and always made sure that the trees have enough free space. At the pattern location they didn't grow. At the beach I planted some palm trees. Also many of the palm trees didn't grow. Hopefully someone can explain me what I am doing wrong.

There are "dead spots," where trees won't grow at all. If a sapling dies in a certain spot, try planting somewhere else instead. As for palm trees, they need to be in the southern part of town, but not in the sand. I hope that helps!
