I have officially hit a new high in listening to weird music. Observe:

If you don't have time to listen to a 2 minute piece (!), at least take the time to listen to the last 30 seconds. The guy playing both flute and keyboard (not at the same time, obviously) is Hermeto Pascoal -- also known as the mad genius of Brazilian music. Yup... The next few months are going to be musical bliss for me. I picked up his entire discography, a few Bill Evans CDs, just ordered two flamenco CDs, and will pick up the Paco de Lucia "Integral" set -- featuring 26 CDs, all remastered -- soon. Life is good. <3

Edit - Also, one thing of note. This Hermeto Pascoal guy? He can play basically any instrument proficiently. He plays flute, guitar, piano, saxaphone, bass, whatever... he is also known to use unconventional things like teapots. Or pigs. Yup. Crazy stuff...

It's different that's for sure.

Sounds like some intro to an 80's gameshow. :P
Yeah, and this is like his least bizarre tune... some of his others are just plain CREEPY. Like...

Synthesizers + sped-up recordings of children talking + flutes + pig noises + harmony that never resolves = CREEPY.

I don't think I should have listened to one particular tune before going to bed last night, haha... but no, it's awesome. I love bizarre stuff. <3

And the guy's a technical genius... to be able to play flute and piano that fast? Crazy.

I can't stop listening... WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!
It's inside your brain! :gyroidsurprised: It has taken over! Resit, RESIIIIIST!

Yeah, this stuff's addicting...and catchy...and weird.

I mean, I'm currently listening to an album called "Brazilian Octopus"...yup...apparently it's the Hermeto guy with his band. Instruments include xylophone, flute, synthesizer, bass guitar, etc... jeez this sounds weird.

But strangely awesome. <3
