So...what type of bird is Amelia?

[Story]

I'm in the middle of making a signature of all my villagers in a sorta realistic style, but I'm kinda confused about what type of bird Amelia is. According to this http://nookipedia.com/wiki/Amelia she could be a lot of things.


Is she a Southern/Northen Crested Caracara?


Or a Red-Headed Vulture?


Or is she something else? xD

I have no idea, but I absolutely love caracaras!

I knew this bird tamer, who had a caracara that was really friendly and would look backwards all cutesy when you called her from behind and eat from your hand.

I'm not a bird fan, but these two look like they could be real-life versions of Amelia. (Besides the fact that they're much smaller.)

She looks more like a vulture to me. She's definitely my favorite eagle, right next to Avery and Keaton.

Or maybe a Red-breasted Sapsucker, although it is a small bird.

According to the Animal Crossing Wiki she is a Crested Caracara, but she looks more like a vulture to me.

Based on all the birds of prey I've seen, I think Amelia looks most like a Lappet-faced Vulture:

I think she's actually a Northern Caracara. Her original shirt (the spiderweb tank) even adds to the effect of mimicking the Caracara's neck/breast plumage pattern!

Wow, I didn't expect this to be so divided. xD
I'm actually leaning towards Caracara both from what yourlilemogirl said above me and the fact that Amelia has a dark head crest on the back of her head. Something that vultures don't have.

If anyone else still wants to weigh in, I would really appreciate it!
