What do ya'll think is with the two different Gullivers? Did Gulliver clonk his head too many times and has more then one personality? Leading a double life on two different ships lol?

Personally I like to think they're long lost twin brothers maybe? I only think this cause their names are spelled differently. Gullivarr is more feisty and in charge, while Gulliver is our clumsy, but prideful seagull.

I met him, and he acts like he's meeting you for the first time.

And I'd love to know what his/their deal is, too! I was hoping Gullivarrr would give an explanation, but nope. Personally, I'm firmly in the "Gulliver clonk his head too many times" boat (bad pun not intended) - mostly because they even have the same "communicator"... if it was a different character like a long lost twin brother, wouldn't he have a pirate-themed phone case...?

i was thinking if his dialogue is somewhat like zipper bunny, with usual nintendo humor, then it means it's just gulliver in cosplay

gullivarr appears to be his alter ego of sorts - i’ve said this before but he reminds me of tortimer’s alter ego, cornimer, who showed up in wild world for the acorn festival aha

It's a way to con us into thinking we have a new NPC, when it's just Gulliver with the old Pascal pirate stuff, while Pascal gives us the old mermaid set.

I wish they would merge half these NPC's and keep them in one place.

I think of Gulliver having multiple personality disorder. When we first meet Gullivarrr, his name is written as Gulliver, then only after he introduces himself the text changes.

I might just be looking too deep into this, but if Nintendo really intend for Gullivarrr to be someone else, he should've been literally a different and entirely new character. Their names are pretty much the same. Being beached and both losing their communicators. So yeah.

I know that they could simply be twins, but it's nice to make theories.

Didn't Gulliver have a spaceship in Wild World? Maybe he's just a very heavy Roleplayer or Reenactor who gets way too into his various roles/hobbies.

Yeah I just think he‘s an avid cosplay fan and he got drunk and crashed on your island in whatever cosplay he was wearing at the time. Gulliver needs help

It still says Gulliver for both ones in game when talking to them. I think he just changed his clothing

I still think he's with the aliens. He does call himself their "brother from another rudder" or w/e when he calls for help. I loved the spaceship idea. He has a boat in Pocket Camp though so I don't know.

He likes to exaggerate his tales though so maybe his pirate persona is another one of those.
