Hey there. So I've got my iTouch here, and it's got all my songs on it. Buuuut my computer is somewhat new, as the old one just died, and of course I never backed up my songs (BAD IDEA KIDS). So this new computer just has blank iTunes with no songs in it.

So basically (for those of you who're familiar with iTunes) what'll happen if I connect my iTouch to my computer? Will they synch and delete my Itouch songs? Can I transfer the songs from my iTouch to my itunes?

I had this same error as you, so you're not alone my friend . I sent an email to apple, and they gave me instructions on how to backup my music files, as long as you bought them off the iTunes Shop then you're free. If you got them as an MP3 download off some site, you're going to have to redownload them. Also, before you do this, look at your "purchased items" in the iTunes store, it may have the music files there. If it doesn't, then you can send the email to apple which they will send you the program to regain the files.

There are some programs online to help you get music off your iPod and onto your computer. Most of them cost $20, but you can use the trial downloads to get them off if you're clever.

Unfortunately a lot of the places where I got quite a number of my songs are now gone/virus filled. :< So I guess those songs are gonna be forever lost? Well at least I'll be able to get my iTunes songs back. :J

Yeah, well what kind of songs did you get from sites? I know a few MP3 sites that might have them.

I got pretty random songs, like ones from DDR (lol yeah I know...) and videogames and anime, as well as some other songs. I got a lot of them from myspace way back before it got all virus-y and stopped allowing downloads. :\

I'm a little scared of downloads now only because if I decimated this new computer with a virus my parents would probably actually kill me XD

For video games, I suggest khinsider. For anime, I think galbaldia hotel has some + DDR

For purchased songs, you can also hook up your iTouch and go to "Transfer Purchases" in the File menu.
