So I played on my Hotel character for a bit, trying to gain Nook Miles to pay off my tent and hopefully be able to move my building soon! However in the process of this I caught not one but two creatures I don't have yet! I'm a bit funny about this and want all things to be donated to museum to have been caught by my main character, ugh. The two creatures were the bagworm and snapping turtle! Bagworm I forgot about and hadn't tried much for anyway, so hoping it won't be too hard to get. But heard the turtle is rare?!

Couple of questions - 1) do insects such as bagworm reset/respawn when going in and out of a building? And 2) if I place the creatures Hotel caught, and pick them up on my main character, will they show up in my encyclopedia or not?

Please and thank you! :)

The bagworm is super common, just shake all your trees and you should find at least one! I'm not super sure about it resetting though but there should be one or two if you have a lot of trees
Snapping turtles are somewhat rare (i dont find them as rare as things like coelacanths but they are pretty rare). Go fishing in the rivers at night, look for big shadows and you should find one if you need another
I believe they should just show up in your encyclopedia if you pick them up yeah. It would be dumb if they didnt and even then the bagworm is pretty simple to catch again

Those will not show up in your encyclopedia. Each player has to catch them to count towards completing your collection.
Player 2 caught 3 items and left them outside the museum to donate.

Thanks! Here's a bit or irony - caught the snapping turtle on main character already!! However no bagworm yet! Do they spawn in all trees or just trees w/o fruit on? Pretty sure the bagworm Hotel caught spawned on a fruitless (shaken) fruit tree! Also would be interested if anyone knows if going in and out resets them? Cheers :D

Done it and caught both!! So surprised I did it so quickly considering I'd been looking for the snapping turtle for ages although not on an extreme level! So pleased. In case anyone is interested, going inside and back out doesn't seem to reset in-tree bugs however quitting game and loading it back up does! :)

And now I have Hotel's snapping turtle as a pet :D

Also, when you're shaking trees, be aware that you can also find spiders (common spiders, not the tarantula) hanging on the tree just like the bagworm.
