It worked fine... for a while. Randomly the top screen went black. I tried taking it apart and tinkering with it using Youtube tutorials, but alas, it still doesn't work :(

Anyone here play with the New 3DS XL (gosh, I hate how they named it)? I figure I would have eventually had to get it since Nintendo usually makes games that are compatible only with the most recent version, but the reviews online make me sketched out :(

I have the new one. I like the feel better than the old one. Plus, the start and select buttons are much better located, the 3d is better. The biggest down side to me is that the stylus is on the bottom now. Is a pain to grab out quickly now

I'd say about the only thing better on the older 3DS as opposed to the "New" one was the easy access to the SD card. Maybe some of the limited edition designs, but those are hard to come by anyway.

Everything else on the New versions is just better overall.

Once it's placed you don't really need to take it out though, since you can just transfer files through wi-fi now. Could be that you have a smaller card though, since with 32GB the only time I really need to clear out anything is when the photos fill up.

Anyway, I really like this redesign. What CM Mark said holds true though, I wish the stylus was in a better position, even after I've been using it for months. The stylus also shorter than the old 3DS XL's. Apart from that, I have no complaints about the system.
As a side note to what you said about them making games compatible only with the newer systems, there's only a handful of exclusives released on the system now. The rest are just "enhanced", so you're able to use the extra buttons and the nub instead of having to slam a Control Pad Pro onto the system.

It's not something that personally bothers me, but I know some people did prefer just popping the card out and popping it into their computer for transfers.

If I need to upload anything nowadays I tend to just use miiverse.

Reminds me of when I spilled scorching hot green tea on my laptopand myself when I leaned back in my chair and fell

The new 3ds xl is amazing.
Sorry that happened to your 3ds though.

I have the old 3ds, and I hear that the new one is better. all I notice is the new pad. is there anything else that is good about it. I might want one in the future...
