...due to having gotten bored with it, and other games coming out that I have been playing (there are a LOT).

What should I expect to find if I log in again soon? xD
I know weeds will be everywhere, and possibly a few villagers will have moved out.

Also, I need some suggestions to help me stay interested in the game. I originally became hooked when I first watched Chuggaaconroy's LP of the game, which caused me to go buy it. However, it didn't take long to pretty much unlock and do everything. My house was fully upgraded/expanded/decorated, full set of gold tools, I had all the outfits I wanted, I had most of the "dreamies" I had picked out, and I literally was just buying stuff to fill out my Order Catalog. What else can I do to keep me playing?

You should expect villagers saying, "Wow! It's -Insert player name-! It's been so long!" etc.

Try to stay in your game by talking to villagers and doing favors, experimenting with things to change your town with, new PWP's, gardening, trading on TBT, switching out villagers to keep your town interesting. Just mix it up a bit.

Gardening and landscaping is what has kept me engaged since release day. I'm constantly getting sick of the way my town looks and redoing things.

That's one problem I have: I'm not very creative. I cannot ever decide on like, paths/pathing styles or gardening. I guess I could save up the stuff and have someone else come over and do it for me? Or get someone to do an appraisal and give me suggestions.

^ Egoraptor yaaas I love the Game Grumps BTW. Also, have you tried getting inspiration from dream towns? That's how I found out I liked an overall foresty theme and worked from there, and that I decided I liked simple paths rather than bricky complicated ones. I think you should do your appraisal idea and then visit dream towns once you get an idea from the appraisal or something.

Unless you stopped play right after a villager pinged to move (and you denied it), you might find one villager having moved out.

I'm pretty sure at least 2-3 of my villagers will be gone and I'll prolly have 2-3 mailboxes worth of letters to go through >< lol!

I might go with a forest theme, seems the easiest to work with.

Wow 9 months is quite a long time ! But I see that happening to my towns when ORAS is released and when I buy Tomodachi Life and other games, the way i've kept myself playing the game for the 7 months I have owned it, has been getting all gold badges and fish/bugs/underwater fish. I decorated for the first time my Mayors fully expanded home and it took me about two weeks, so It was fun and kept me playing, also when I decide to play I make sure to speak to my villagers often this way I get asked for Signatures, fruit, items and all that jazz to keep me busy.

I'm currently playing Pokemon X after abandoning it for like 4 months, so I rarely play my towns at the moment, but I think a good way for me to get back into it would be paying of my two other characters houses and make their houses by specific theme, who knows maybe get their gold badges too (that's alot of freaking work)

Another suggestion would be, Restart, have a new town with new everything. And just start from scratch.

If you haven't already started the game again you can check the activity log to see when you last played and time travel to the day after. It will be like you haven't even stopped.

You can then set the ordinance to beautiful town and check for moving villagers. I've heard that if, on the last day you play a villager tells you they are moving out and you stop them from moving, you can safely jump as much time as you want to the present day and no villagers will have moved out. So if no one asks to move the first time you check you can time travel one day at a time until it happens and then do the big jump forwards.

If you follow these steps, your town will not be overrun with weeds, your flowers won't all have died and you will probably find that no villagers have moved.
