You can block someone and never have to play with them again if they are causing trouble. At the bottom left hand corner you can click to see who is on the island. Click on the name that you want to block and you'll never play with them again.
Sometime players cut all the trees down just for fun. To fix this hop on a tour alone and the trees will be back when your return.
If you arrive on the island and no one is there start a tour if you want to bug collect. No one can arrive. Once your done end the tour and than go home.
Make sure to check the tour list. A lot of players games are on different days. If your lucky you might get the same high price medal tour 5 out of 7 days.
