So i finally joined Club Tortimer

To visit CT online? Kapp'n gives you some options when you talk to him.

after joining the club he asks "who are you spending time with on the island?" and to go online you select "other players." he'll then ask if you want to meet people from your continent only or from all around the world.

but beware of bell beggars and other delinquents!

A few tips...
Don't try to make money while playing with others. Don't catch expensive bugs or fish, because someone will force quit and make you lose everything in your inventory.
I find it easier to play internationally, because apart from a quick 'hi', no one expects you to converse, especially if it's a different language.
Don't give out your friend code to people you meet through CT. Almost all of them are very young, immature, and extremely volatile.
However, it's a great way to get medals for the mermaid and cabana sets, as it can make the tours go by way faster and make them a lot more fun!

I've used Club Tortimer about 10 times and of those 10 times, Ive been asked for money about 4 times.

I have gone to Club Tortimer several times and my experiences were quite nice. I never met anyone who wanted bells from me. Just don't bother trying to fish or hunt rare bugs because some might purposefully scare them away or disconnect. And then you lose your hard-earned items. Not worth it, but if you just want to get the exclusive Club Tortimer items then that's okay.

I hate CT, it's annoying. People are rude and act like they've known eachother for years and you're there like "...".

I usually get 4 bananas/coconuts, then put them in the box, so if someone joins, leaves, or goes on a tour, they'll be in the box if someone force quits.

I joined CT a while back and I think it's a pretty nice experience! A guy dressed as Santa gave me like a million bells once. I've never run into any beggars. And I also made friends with some people and we traded friend codes and played with each other.

DO NOT WEAR ANYTHING EXPENSIVE OR RARE!!!!!!!

I'm talking crowns, Gracie stuff, hybrid flowers in your hair, and any DLC related clothing/accessories. Seriously, people will covet that stuff and probably beg "to try it one". If that happens, leave. Do not give in, because you'll lose them if you do... It's never happened to me personally, since I've only gone once, but I've heard sad stories...

Just be careful and suspicious of people, and you'll be fine.

Oh I won't be allowing anyone to bully me lmao! Or scam me. I'm not gullible or easy to bring down online ;)

There are some weird people on CT, but you can just ignore them for the most part. Like people said, don't go to CT for beetle hunting; it's a lot easier to just do it on your island where you can plant trees in optimal locations. I just go to CT to buy stuff from the shop and leave, but you'll occasionally find people to play tours with. If someone really wants your FC and wants to hang out, just insist that you hang out in their town if you want to try to be friends.

I go to the international island several times a day, and don't usually have problems. Yeah, a lot of people ask for money, but just tell them no because it's easy to earn it themselves, and if they persist, leave immediately, or go on a tour if you're on an island you like (they'll be gone when you get back).

I just island hop since I have only 3 island items left to collect. I sometimes have issues with someone erroring on NA but not international. Occasionally I do tours with others but I don't give out my fc. I also don't do tours if I'm wearing anything expensive or hard to obtain.

I completely agree with those warnings people mentioned above. Don't catch expensive bugs/fish at the island because there tend to be immature people or "trolls" who will intentionally make you stuck on the island or threatening to error out if you don't pay them or something. I encounter that a lot in the North America island but met really cool and nice people on the international island. But I mean there are trolls anywhere. So just go there for tours, chat with people, and island hop for stuff. I recommend not giving out your FC unless the person talks maturely, but I don't trust anyone 100% from CT because they are very anonymous so they could ruin your town. (for example in BellTree we have Wi-Fi rating and profiles, so we arent that "anonymous")
