It's possible a couple of those were hybrid red roses. I did a lot of 'testing' in New Leaf and I recall having yellow and hybrid red roses spawn a black rose on me once. Might be the same in New Horizons.

Oh, this is interesting! My sister visited my island and watered some of my flowers recently, and I got a ton of hybrids the next day. I thought it was just really good luck until I saw this video.

I mysteriously got 19 flower spawns today, that’s right 19. And besides the rain no one watered my flowers yesterday, not even me. Maybe more flowers spawn this time of year? 11 of those flowers were hybrids by the way

I really feel like luck is back in this game, and I wonder if that impacts the number of flower/hybrid spawns. Some days (today) I got very few flowers (no new hybrids) and I have been fishing up tons of trash.

I saw something similar on twitter that also claimed that friends watering your flowers increases the chances of new spawns.

I tested it out with my friends, I got them to water my flowers for the past couple of days and I've been getting more new buds (including normal + hybrids) than I've ever have when I watered my own flowers! So we're watering each other's flowers now lol

Something interesting to note: Bam saw my friend watering my flowers yesterday and actually commented to me about this after he left! So the game is definitely acknowledging that my friend watered my flowers!

I don't count them but I also got a lot of hybrids today. Not for the first time either.

Does anyone know if it is a spawning chance once every day or twice a day. Cause I'd swear I saw spawns I hadn't seen before I played early morning.

If the flowers next to the red rose all spawned a flower the red rose would default to breeding with itself that might be why it made a black rose.

This seems to work! I got a blue rose today (my second one ever), 3 oranges, a pink windflower, a hybrid red (born from blacks), and 2 purple pansies. They're all from the plots of flowers that my friend watered!

The most hybrids I've gotten in one night has been 33. This was done by watering them all by myself. Around 300-400 flowers were watered. Breeding hybrids together is the most effective way.
