So how does Toy Day specifically work?

The villagers have been asking me for what they would like for Christmas but... uhh... I thought it was something specific, and I started getting confused. Like Velma's favorite color is purple, but she's asking for something orange.

Is it just random, or is there a guide I can follow for each individual villager, much like the Roost coffee preferences?

As far as I know, it doesn't relate to the villagers themselves, rather Jingle gives you a bag of gifts on Toy Day that contains all the possible gifts mentioned by your villagers. So it could be something completely unrelated to their preferences, you just have to remember their criteria and give them the correct gift from the selection.

Haha, without a doubt. It's hard enough remembering everyone's request for one town, I can't imagine what it's like juggling multiple.

Yeah I have it written down. For the outfit, is it possible to get it from another player? Not sure if I can play every day and remember to pick it up from Able's and Kicks.

Like everyone else, I would write it down. It's so easy to lose track and you can't really guess them at all.

That being said, it's my favorite event! I really hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do~

1. They tell what color they will like
2. They tell if it's a clothe, toy, electronic etc
WRITE THOSE DOWN in a paper for every animal in every town it's different and also for each year

When toy day come you get the present and by knowing what the present it's deliver that item to the animal
Example
Someone wanted a beige item and it's a carpet
Well that the neutral floor deliver that to the animal

On Toy Day, Jingle gives you one a bag with one present for each villager in your town. You have to deliver all of the presents to the correct villager to get Jingle's pic. The villagers give you clues in December so that you can match the presents to your villagers correctly on Toy Day.

if you can't remember what items your villagers want on Toy Day suspend the game by pressing Home then go to Game Notes (yellow pencil icon) and write down what each villager wants

As people have said before me, it has nothing to do with their usual preferences. When you get the sack from Jingle it'll all make sense. Also you don't have to play every day to get the whole outfit so you should be fine but yes you can buy or borrow it from someone and it'll work too.

Personally I use the game notes on my DS to make my notes for my villagers. I've got a few clues already.

I put the notes in my actual phone. I always have that on me lol.

Each villager will have two clues - a color and an item type (wallpaper, flooring, toy, furniatire, etc).

Try your best to get both clues for all villagers cos sometimes two are very similar.

I put the notes on the 3DS for my villagers. Liquefy FAQS Guide on Gamefaqs has the gift once you get the two clues.
If you get Carpet look at the list and find your color. It will tell you what the item is.

Don't Time Travel ahead and than back days. Players that did said their list changed and they had to start all over again.

Just take picture with your 3ds camera. Review the pictures before you start the game on the 24th. No need to write anything down.

Thank you for the tips. I made the mistake of TT'ing to get Beau to move into my town. Now I have to talk to everyone again. Also with your tip about Gamefaqs. I took this picture so it'll be easier for everyone.
