snooties toned down even more?

willow feels too sweet to be a snooty villager, i almost questioned if she was a snooty. but then again, the villagers won’t stop talking about eggs & she just moved in a couple of days ago & she was my first snooty for new horizons so maybe that’s why i’m a bit excited to finally have a new villager personality. but today she just told me it was nice i keep checking up on her? what’s this, did they completely pass on the snarky remarks to uchi’s?

I think it takes some time to get their real dialogue and personality. The first week seems very basic and tutorial mode but after awhile they start to get more interactive especially if you catch them in conversations with other villagers.

Diana has been nothing but super sweet so far, she was dropping the “darling” and “my dear” like candy even on her first day.

However, I did catch her having an argument with Reneigh in which she implied Reneigh lacked style and glamour and was super snarky about it, Reneigh got so angry lmaooo

Freya got really mad at Huck last night because he mocked her for being fancy and calling people darling (tangent: what kind of sad excuse for a smug even are you, Huck?). She's been reasonably polite to me, but the snooty snark comes out when she's in a bad mood. Problem is, there's really not a whole lot you as the player can do to put them in a bad mood intentionally.

Is it just me or did they tone down grumpy and snooty personalities and tone the jock and peppy ones way up? I have Hamphrey, a grump on my island, who hasn't said one grumpy thing to me yet.

it’s the same with cranky! chief moved in and i was so excited cause cranky dialogues were fun to read but he was so nice lol

I almost feel like the snooties haven’t been snooty since Wild World, really. In New Leaf I had Diana and she was my favorite villager, but she was never anything but sweet and very stylish / maybe SLIGHTLY vain. They’ve really toned them down since the original games. The snooties were SO rude to you in the original games, but I actually really enjoyed it.

I have Robin in my town currently and didn't even know she was snooty until I saw her on a list of snooty characters LOL

they just feel like alternate normal personalities at this point

So far crankies and snooties seem toned down to me as well. I love Dobie to bits but he doesn't have an ounce of grumpy in him, he's basically a loving grandpa, and Broffina keeps calling me "dear" and "darling". Basically a fashionable aunt or something. However, as someone else said I agree that jock and peppy seem toned up from NL. Cranky and snooty were the ones I had been hoping would be toned up though

All the villagers' dialogues will get toned down now crankys aren't even cranky anymore. They're like lazy villagers but without the bugs or food.

I'm going to wait till bunny fortnight is mercifully over before judging but yeah, Cranky doesn't seem very cranky. More like.. older and uncle-like.

I'm really just here for two reasons:
1) to say that Willow is awesome and my fav snoot
2) to add to the Punchys itt

Cranky and snooty being my favorite.

I thought they were meant to improve the game.

It's like the people who worked on it don't have a clue about AC.

Frustratingly, they're only really "themselves" when in conversation with other villagers, we don't really get a taste of it now.

It's one of my biggest disappointments in the newer games, and they just keep getting softer each release

Only really an issue for snooty and grumpy villagers ofc, the peppy ones are as peppy as even, and Nintendo graciously made the smug villagers walking memes of themselves!

Then they should have a kids mode if they're so sensitive.

I've seen kids blowing people away in GTA with no problems.

I agree that I wouldn't want villagers to be mean. But I think it would be good if they were a bit more distinguishable in their personalities. Characters can be snooty without being mean, and same with cranky.
