So I went to Best Buy because Black Friday and when I was looking in the discount bin, I found maybe 15 copies of Smash Bros Wii U. I couldn't find any on the shelves, so I think all of them were in there. The game has been out for a week and it's already getting its price lowered by Best Buy. Wow. Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze and some Just Dance games were also there, I didn't recognize the others.

Apparently it's something in the update data patch. A lot of people are reporting it on smash boards. link/
I haven't actually played Smash online yet, (wanted to practise and unlock everything first) so I've not downloaded the update. And now I'm not going to.

I downloaded the update from when you put the disc in and I've downloaded a system update. Just double checking but: am I safe?

The one advantage Fox had was he done 1.5 times damage because he is an amiibo. <_< Not balenced.
Avoid Online battles completely is all I can say. One person said the error hit them in Master/Crazy orders aswell, But every report is from people playing in For Glory mode it seems. But some people have it affect them the next time they play ~ which I imagine is how the one report from master orders got it.
Several people are just not playing the game at all, which imo is dumb, because you might as well have the error code if you're not going to be playing it.
Oh, and if it does come up DO NOT FORMAT THE SYSTEM - It erases everything and doesn't ressolve the error, and makes it so your data won't be recoverable. Just wait for a patch.

Nope, usually it means you have to send it in to Nintendo and it comes back wiped, and previous save data doesn't load if backed up. And if it's bricked then it's practically a doorstop. If you format the console after this error it won't play any games by the sounds of it, and locks you onto the menu.
But seeing as this issue is seemingly affecting a lot of people there's a good chance an update will happen to fix it soon, and if it can't be fixed via a patch Nintendo will recall the affected consoles.
I'm being on the safe side. I don't know if they can fix the error code, can they?
