Smash Bros Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U Discussion Thread

I guess I'm safe then?

(have WWHD bundle Wii U)

In all honesty I don't know. Seeing as consoles that didn't sell in the first shipment would have been stored / called back and turned into new bundles and resold. But the newer the console the more likely you are to be safe it seems.

We do know it's not just a single batch of Wii Us though as it's been reported globally - Including Japan where Smash isn't even released, it seems to be an issue with how data is saved to the console, that has always been present, and searching the code alongside any Wii U title in google gives results of people having this problem since the launch of the Wii U.

For now people are suggesting to just make sure you close the game software via the home button so that it can finish any auto-saves it's doing in the background, then turn off the console. But so far it seems to be affecting less than 1 in 1000 consoles. (looking closer to 1 in 10,000).

-Also, Nintendo have posted official statements on various media stating they know about the error, and if you get it to call their help and repairs team.

My main problem is the sword form of Master Core, someone comfort me and tell me I'm not alone

This just feels like some zombie apocalypse rn

no, sword is the worst

too much aerial time as well as all the multihit moves he has

also I'm pretty positive he has the greatest launch power of any form

sword core is why I've only cleared up to 8.5 so far

Same, I normally get to the swords form with <60% damage done to me (on like 6.9-8.0 usually). Then they take that life and start to wreck the next. <_<;
It's that goddamn 50 million slashes attack that's like a visible form of sectumsempre.

That's probably going to include me so... good thing I still have Brawl!

It's not affecting everyone though. And also, it can be almost any game that triggers it. It's just a lot of people are playing Smash now, so obviously the more activity the more likely we hear stories of it.

I can only take down the Sword on high difficulty when I'm Ganon man it's a real pain

I can still access Data Management. Should I delete the update data for the game? People are saying how it came with the initial update, so would deleting it be fine?

If the only affected game was Smash Bros I'd say why not? But it seems to be a console error and any game can cause it if you happen to have a console with that problem. So I'm pretty sure deleting the update data because it *might* speed things up, is effectly saying you'd rather get the error later on from something else. - and then potentially be one of very few people with issues.

If you're determined to, I can't imagine it'd affect your game other than make it so you can't play online. Your save data file is in a separate location (if it's anything like the 3DS, haven't explored my wii U settings much myself).
But there's a fair chance your save data is only compatable with that update and later ones now. - Like most computer programs do.

Honestly, I think the best course of action is just to continue as usual. Atleast that way if anything bad happens you don't have to explain the complicated voodoo you tried down the phone to Nintendo repairs if it goes wrong. And if you get the error you'll know you're not alone and that Nintendo is trying to sort it already, instead of being the only one and them looking at your console and just resetting to factory default because it's easy and it's only 1 person who'll be unhappy.

TL;DR (if theres too much 6AM waffle) I'm not doing anything different because of this error, and I wouldn't advise anyone else does.

Anyone wanna play Smash?
Shoot me a VM.

Should be fine.
I played with Jer yesterday and played today, no big error code whoop.

Other sources are saying it's when you power down when the game is saving and smash bros doesn't say when you say so ://

It's displaying Larry as Bowser Jr in Solo mode is that meant to happen?

why would you want to play an inferior game? :^)

Well Brawl isn't going around breaking people's consoles so until the glitch is fixed, the Wii U version is inferior.

Where in Solo mode? If it's All-Star, then yes, it will show Koopalings randomly, but be in Bowser Jr.'s spot.

I dunno, Brawl killed most people's Wii's due to it being Dual-Layered (Including mine).

Besides, it's going to get patched by like next week with the Tournament update.

I got PK Freeze I'm so happy I'm
Oh and I'm really loving Rosalina, Ness, Bowser Jr (Ludwig skin but yknow) and Duck Hunt Duo. But I'm struggling against CPU 7s. I also want to main Palutena but she isn't really a good character, so to speak. Any tips?

It wasn't in All-Star it was in Classic, but there was a a default palette Bowser Jr too if that's anything to do with it
It kind of annoys me that the Koopalings are displayed instead of Bowser Jr though, idk why

idk what the system update did but I just downloaded a system update

But that was a problem years ago. Why should I be worried about something that got solved years ago when I should care about something that is affecting people now? Until the glitch is fixed, Brawl is better.
