Slightly different kind of thread... What features do you think WON'T ever come in updates?

I'd like to see it, but I don't think swimming is going to make a return. I'm hoping I'm wrong. It just seems weird they'd have a new feature added in one game only to remove it completely in a newer game.

As much as I would love it, I don't think they'll find any way to reduce the loading time or cut down on the incredible amount of unnecessary prompting in the dialogue to do pretty much anything.

I don't want to go through 500 boxes of dialogue to send a frickin letter, good lord.

I'm in the camp that thinks swimming is a foregone conclusion based on datamines, but you very well could be right! I just hope if they do bring it back that it's a little less clunky than in NL!

CJ during the fishing tourney was by far the worst example of this I can think of! I agree... Don't see it changing either :/

I feel that sending mail via the airport is impersonal.

I'd like to see Phyllis, Pelly, and Pete back, but I don't think that will happen.
They could return in some low key way, but sending mail won't ever be the same now they've gone all 'self serve'.

John Wick the imperial series seems very close to a combo of the zen series and the gorgeous series of new leaf; but admittedly, this island isnt big on the whole furniture thing

I don't like that they've done that. It's basically the exotic set, and not that nice.

I'm fine with crafting barrels, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't mind if the pirate furniture all became possible to craft. There's just a lot missing, like the helm, canons, Jolly Roger flag, and some other things. I'd even love to see crates return. Not sure why that's not already in the game since we have barrels. Speaking of which, it would be nice to see the kegs return as well. They're just barrels, but on their sides. That's almost like folding a sandwich and calling it something else.

i doubt they’ll be adding retail in at any point. while it could certainly serve as the flea market, the main purpose of it, at least imo, was cyrus’ customization and now that we can do that on our own, there’s not really any use for his character. i believe, just like rover, him and reese will be showing up for the upcoming wedding event and then that’ll be it for them, at least for a while.

I've seen quite a few pirate themed islands, and I'd love to see them even more if we got some of this stuff back

I think it'd be awkward to have to make space on our island for both nooks and retail.. that's the main reason I don't see it happening. But we do need some in game way of being able to buy each other's stuff!

I feel the same way about most of main street! People point a lot to how many more buildings NL had, but I feel like a lot of them could have/should have been condensed. I'd rather see kicks join the able sisters than get his own shop again.

New buildings are an exciting thought though, and not one that I've considered too much!

I doubt they'll expand the island map. I've seen a few people wonder about it, but that seems like it would have an INSANE amount of development & impact on the game, and take a ton of memory. I'm sure they tested a lot for a size that felt "right" and could still be played handheld.

Maybe, possibly, we'd get some kind of alternate space, like the Cabin in Pocket Camp. But we already have Harv's Island...

I'm not sure what went into the choice to make the final house smaller than the last game, but I agree that I don't think it's changing

Mannequins returning is a must imo. They're already even in the game in the Able Sisters! Just make it something we can obtain!
