So... I literally got my computer months and months ago for gaming, but literally all I've used it for so far is playing Sims... which I mean, isn't really gaming. XD But I bought it mostly so I could play Skyrim and get mods for it and stuff since I bought the special edition with the expansions and whatever on steam forever ago and had only previously played Vanilla.

SO NOW, after months and months, probably even almost a year now... I don't remember when I got my computer... I FINALLY STARTED PLAYING AGAIN!

So I was wondering if anybody else still plays Skyrim so we can share cool mods and maybe screenshots/videos and stuff. I might eventually start actually playing ESO since I have it but have yet to actually play it, but playing Skyrim again is getting me in the mood.

The mods are SO fun, I loved being able to start off with the Live Another Life mod and not have to go through that horrible beginning for a millionth time... Downloaded a bunch of nifty gathering mods and graphics mods and it looks so amazing just walking around, and the immersive mods are amazing and add so much to the game! Can't wait to play more, like literally I want it to be my weekend again... so I can play more. *cries*

I know it's probably unlikely that people still play, because it's a pretty old game, but I really enjoy it!

Nah, I've been through it 2-3 time due to all the bad glitches and stuff to get all achievements on the PC version so I'm probably never touching it again :P

And yeah the beginning cutscenes are pretty boring... Like bruh can I start lol?

I've been playing again recently, also using Live Another Life mod, and a few other mods than are non game-breaking. One mod I always use is Rich Merchants which gives all merchants 10000 gold so you can sell whatever you want whenever you want.

I have a similar mod as well, it's a multiplier and had x2 x5 x10 options for starting merchant gold, so I did the x5. Way easier to sell off stuff instead of having to visit every merchant in 2 towns before you're rid of all of your junk. :/

I also got a gathering mod that give more realistic amounts, so instead of getting one flower you get I think between 2-5 flowers each time you pick a flower, and same for looting beast bodies, so you'll realistically get 2 eyes instead of one, multiple mudcrab chitins instead of just one. It makes getting your Alchemy up way easier which I appreciate it a lot because I love making potions and selling them off. (I mostly only use poisons and healing potions.)

I also downloaded "Inigo", which I guess is "the best follower ever" with completely original dialogue and no level cap, but I usually wait until I am higher level to get a follower so I've only gazed at him lovingly in his jail cell.

I'm far too addicted to Skyrim. I put 200 hours into it on the 360, 150 on my PS4, 250 on my Xbox One and now I'm playing it on my Switch...help

I have Skyrim on the switch (but when I get my new computer I do plan on getting the PC version for the mods). Most of my pictures/videos are of the sky/terrain, though (I just LOVE the graphics for nature in that game... though their people need some work lol)

I have a video of what looks like Lucia coming up on Sissel with a knife that I found amusing, and a BUNCH of videos of Cicero being... Cicero.

There is this absolutely hilarious mod where if you break your lock pick, Billy Madison screams "YOU BLEW IT"

There is also Macho Man (snap into a slim jim!) are the dragons.

I have seen the Macho Man Randy Savage as the dragons as well as Thomas the Tank Engine and both were amazing. I love watching the silly mod videos so much. And yeah I love and hate Cicero at the same time. Already trying to look for him cause as soon as I got to Whiterun people were talking about him, but it's always a bit of a chore trying to find him on the road. (At least for me.) But I really think there are plenty of actually really helpful mods. I got one that is a "horse call" and it shows under your shouts, but when you have a horse and you lose it you can call it and it will come, like in Red Dead Redemption or most other games where you have a horse. I don't even have a horse yet, but I know how many times I cried over losing Shadowmere, and then when I randomly came across him one day I legitimately cried happy tears.

I don't know if it's the one you have, but Convenient Horses is even better than a horse call, since it also allows you to store excess gear (cough cough dragon bones) on your horse's saddle bags! It works great when I'm playing with Frostfall, another really cool mod that causes the weather to impact your character. You have to dress your character appropriately when you're in the cold/rain otherwise you get debuffs - highly recommended if you are looking for a more unique challenge in the game.

Since you've already played vanilla, I'd recommend looking into quest and dungeon mods. Some people are able to do really crazy and fun things with the game, and it's always fun to have that feeling of discovering something new, even in a game you've invested hundreds of hours in.

I think the one I have is like "Even Better Horses" or something like that as well as the horse call. I'm not too concerned with weight since I put on a mod that reduces certain item weights and makes things like ingredients weightless, which is helpful when I pick and collect every thing ever. Plus I have followers AND a Mudcrab to carry extra stuff just in case, but I often travel to towns between missions cause I hate having a super cluttered inventory.

Honestly I am not a highly skilled player, having only played on Novice before I was wondering why the game was so hard around this time, chugging potions left and right was barely helping... THEN I realized I was actually on Apprentice(whatever the normal starting hardness is...), and I honestly was surprised I had survived so long because I am really awful. I use two handing cause just bashing them is all I'm good at, trying to improve with aiming with the bow but so far if they're moving I'm done for. So while I think those survival and realism mods are AMAZING and give mad props to those who play with them... I would not survive.

With Vanilla sadly I never was able to get entirely too far into it, besides finishing the main "dragon" questline, and getting pretty far with the Brotherhood, so there's still actually a lot that I have yet to see in just the base game, but I have gotten a mod that adds in a bunch more dungeons as well as 2 big questmods; Moonpath to Elsweyr, and Falskaar, both which add a few hour of stuff to the game. And of course, with SSE I have a lot more to do with that as well. So so far I've actually been getting pretty far on a few questlines. =D

WEH. I don't know if it's something to do with my mods or something but how normally after you start the dragon questline just about every few times you fast travel a dragon attacks where you go right? Well now that's happening but the dragon is not actually attacking, he roars and soars over, looking around, but much too high up to shoot to start an attack and there's no red dot. I know before in vanilla if I hid after fast traveling I could sometimes avoid an attack, but I haven't been hiding and have been trying to get him to fight but he wont. T_T Then he just go offs into the mountains and disappears. It's really weird, and everyone gets ready too, all the guards of the town and my followers pull out their weapons in anticipation but it's just really odd, I mean sometimes he does still attack but now it's only every once in a while... :/ I WANT THOSE SOULS!

Also I think Riften is bugged because whenever I go there it does the big rumble like when a dragon lands but only the first time I step into the city, it's really odd, but that's less problematic.

So I definitely see how getting so many mods can probably mess up a game, but I'm hoping nothing more serious happens, cause I'm pretty happy with the mods I've got so far.

I have a glitch where random, dead dragons fall from the sky, but I can't loot their inventory since it's empty, and they won't give me their souls.

I like to think I'm okay at Skyrim. I started playing in late Jan... I play on Adept level, have cleared 41 dungeons, completed the Dark Brotherhood (including Nazim's contracts) quests, finished the Thieves Guild quests... I did the war quests before I did the main quest, but I've finished both of those (watching Ulfric walk around in the after-life was ironic, especially because he's going to have to share a feast with the very man he killed, Torygg...) I did tons of side quests, like the murder of Windhelm, the werewolf hunt, etc.. and I'm currently doing the Mage College quests. I have a house in Riften, Windhelm, Solitude, and Whiterun... I'm building on Dawnstar property. I'm Thane in all of those places plus Markarth and Winterhold, but I don't have a house in those two yet.

I have seen the Macho Man Randy Savage as the dragons as well as Thomas the Tank Engine and both were amazing. I love watching the silly mod videos so much. I thought horses stay with you after you fast travel?

When I first started playing, I couldn't afford a horse but REALLY wanted one. So I found this bandit camp behind Whiterun and the bandits were, for some reason, already dead (it was so close to Whiterun. I think the guards may have walked by and killed them). There was a horse there and I was like "I have to have this!!" and took it. But everytime I'd get off the horse he'd walk away since he wasn't loyal to me, lol. After that I started saving up for a horse because I really wanted one.

I purchased a horse and then literally a day later I got to the point of the Dark Brotherhood quests to where Astrid gives me Shadowmere... But now I have two loyal companions! Plus, who doesn't love Shadowmere? I never have to worry about him dying... no matter how many bandits or dragons have swarmed the poor thing, they can't even put damage on him.

I love Cicero, but I had to let him go because he kept talking during important dialogue.

Legate: "This is what I want you to do: --"

Cicero: "Ho ho ho! Hee hee hee! Break that lute across my knee! And if the bard shall choose to fight, why then I'll set his clothes alight!"

Legate: "Did you get all that, soldier?"

TBH my favorite glitch I ever got was in Vanilla Skyrim on PS3 I had a perma-dragon skeleton at Riften. It was a legit dragon attack that we killed and I was able to loot, but the skeleton would NOT go away! What was even better was that it would jiggle around and poof to different places each time I went, but it'd always be there. Sometimes it'd be halfway jammed under the overhangs of the roofs, sometimes on the roof, sometimes right at the entrance, sometimes in the waterway, but always there. It was hilarious.

Also just the other day on my new modded game a dragon attacked Solitude, decided to land in the training ground for the guards, and the second he died he morphed through the floor and only his tail was sticking out... XD I was almost so mad that he was going to go all the way through and I wouldn't be able to loot him but I was able to through his little skeleton tail and then I couldn't stop laughing.

Horses do stay with you during fast travel, unless they run off attacking something or get too far away from you, which I am assuming was the case with Shadowmere. So I never want that to happen again. In my first time playing I did the same as you, found a rando horse and rode it around, but got mad when it'd run off, so I saved up and bought a horse... and then the horse died. X.X So I was super happy when I got Shadowmere! Until I lost him. T_T

Ugh I took Vilkas to Solstheim with me because he kept talking about taking a trip to Morrowind, only for him to keep talking about going to Morrowind over all of the dialogue. It's like dude, WE'RE IN MORROWIND, you can stop. The Solstheim follower guy wasn't even any better because all he talked about was taking a trip to Skyrim.

I eventually modded Brynjolf into being a follower because if they're never going to shut up, I'd rather have the guy with the best voice in the game talking at me nonstop lmao

I downloaded Inigo and I really enjoy his chatter, but it's nice too you can customize him a lot to do less idle chatter and everything but he reminds me to do a lot of things I forget about, like selling off my dragon stuff that always weighs me down! And his chatter is nice and unique so it's fun to listen to instead of freaking Mjoll, LIKE I KNOW YOUR MOM TAUGHT YOU YOUR SWORD SKILLS CAUSE YOUR DAD WAS GONE OK?!?! JUST SHUT UP! She's a tom cat but I couldn't stand her chatter. And don't get me started on Lydia "Oh look, a cave!" YES LYDIA, A+ FOR YOU! #1 CAVE IDENTIFIER! Stenvar isn't so bad as a follower(or husband) though. Makes a killer pie!

The dum-dee-dee-dum song Lydia hums while walking around still haunts me. I just leave her in Dragonsreach at this point. Girl bye. Until, like an idiot, I buy Breezehome and she decides to move herself in. Thank goodness for player home mods that are 1000x better than the main city and Hearthfire homes.

Lowkey though, the follower I hate the most is Serana. She killed Meeko only to then resurrected him, literally right after I rescued her sorry keister. Dawnguard is now unplayable for me, which is a shame because I actually really liked a lot of the quests, I just never want to her stupid face or hear her stupid voice again.

That's funny since so many people LOOOOVE her. I don't see why she's so cool... And yeah, even when Lydia is just at Breezehome I hate her, enter my house and just hear crunching... sitting up in my room eating bread. GET A LIFE LYDIA! I almost want to kill her just to get rid of her, maybe I'll use her for that quest that needs a sacrifice. Muahahahaha!

Also I'm sad, just started the Elsweyr quest mod and my game died when I tried sneaking off in the wrong direction. Darn my curiosity! I'm a kitty for god's sake!

I mean I enjoy the fact that Lydia was given a male walking animation. It's just a tiny touch, but it adds so much to her character imo. But there are plenty of other characters that have fun little touches - Bethesda didn't stretch the budget on voice actors, but they tried to make the characters distinct in every other way possible. lol Boethiah is always an option for unwanted followers, yeah. I typically use one of the hirelings for that quest.

Oof. That's something you've gotta watch out for with mods, especially mods like Moonpath that add entire new areas. The coding can get kinda unstable at times, especially if you go the wrong way and try to load something that you either shouldn't or that straight up doesn't exist. Was it just a regular crash to desktop? If so, you'll probably be fine to re-load and try again. If it threw up an error message, it may be worth troubleshooting.

omg i am so addicted to skyrim rn it's ridiculous. i have it for switch and i'm having a blast, i had never played it before previously.

speaking of random dragons though, there's always this dead one that falls out of the sky by the blue palace in solitude. i didn't kill the thing and it's not a skeleton either so i have no idea why it started appearing lmao. also today 3 dragons appeared at once so that was a little scary fun lol. i was in rorikstead and i was fighting a frost dragon while alduin was buzzing around the town/hill nearby and resurrecting another dragon, which was promptly slaughtered.

I'm pretty sure the dead dragons are a sign of script lag somewhere. Essentially, the game never unloaded the last dragon near Solitude you (or something else, although there aren't many giants near Solitude) killed like it was supposed to. Then it decided you needed a dragon attack, saw the (dead) dragon, and thought 'oh this one is already here, no need to spawn a whole new one' and dumped it on you without checking to see whether or not it was even alive. Normally when it does this, the game is supposed to resurrect and reset those dragons so they have souls and loot and are, y'know, alive, but it has a nasty habit of not doing that on its own. To the point where this was one of the first bugs fixed in the Unofficial Patch (but unfortunately I don't think that's available for Switch, unless you can mod the Switch version like the XB1/PS4 versions?)

My absolute favorite (semi-related) bug is when mammoths spawn in midair. I had one that just floated majestically down to the ground at a slow enough speed to not take damage, and start walking around, doin his mammoth thang, as if that was his normal morning commute.
