Gaming Goals for 2025

So, how did everyone's gaming goals go in 2025?
I was so confused as to why a 2025 thread was bumped until I realised why lmao

I'm going to try complete the games I got for my birthday.
So quick overview, I did not complete all the games lol, most of them didn't interest me enough to keep playing
I'm notoriously bad at finishing video games, so I'm going to try and do those. I've already started into Katrielle and the Millionaire's Conspiracy (I thought it was a professor Layton game, turns out it follows his daughter, Katrielle, so that was a small surprise when I got it)
Finished this really early in the year iirc. Plot wise, it was crap. The puzzles were fine though so it was bearable. Didn't much like the MC
and LEGO Hobbit (this one is more of a joke game that I got, one that I wouldn't have to take seriously and laugh about with my dad who likes LOTR).
I played it for half an hour before putting it down and never picking it back up again lol. Couldn't understand what was happening, didn't care enough to find out
Monster Hunters: Generations also arrived today, and it seems like a game I can get into.
It was not. Controls were weird and the bit I played wasn't interesting to me at all, unfortunately.
I'm definitely going to try and explore more games in the LoZ realm, seeing as Oot, MM, ST, and Hyrule Warriors are the only ones I've played so far (if I'm remembering correctly, but there might be another one).
I actually did play a few LoZ games during the year! I started phantom hourglass and played it a bit, enjoyed what I did play of it. Replayed Oot and spirit tracks. Also got link between worlds and played a fair chunk of it but then school got in the way of me completing it (I need full concentration for loz lol)
In relation to Animal Crossing, I'm going to stop time travelling.
Technically true, since I stopped playing lol. Haven't really found the time or motivation to continue playing regularly
I'm not a crazy time traveller, but it happens a lot so the days aren't synced up properly. So I'm going turrn over a new leaf (hehe) in that respect. Other than that, I'm going to play more regularly, hopefully.
As said above, I did not start playing regularly :^P

All in all, I'd say I did more than I expected myself to do given my general lack of motivation and effort

I'm hoping this is the year I finally complete my national dex in Pokemon Home at some point. And generally I just want to finish as many incomplete games as I can.
Well the national dex thing didn't happen, but I did manage to increase my number of unique Pokemon in Home to 1020, and finished the Violet dexes, so there's that. Maybe this will be the year. Also I finished a good amount of games but started even more.

The only real gaming goals I have for this year are to finish 20 games

I beat 26 ✅

with at least 15 of those games being things from my backlog that I haven't finished yet

While it was only 14, it would've been 15 had things not been interfered with at some points, so I'm still giving myself a pass on it ✅

and at least 5 of those 15 being games I got for Christmas and my birthday

Exactly 5 ✅

I don't have any specific goals beyond that since I'm more focused on just reducing my backlog, lol, though it'd be nice if I could go back and 100% Cult of the Lamb at some point.

This wasn't an actual goal of mine, but I'll note that I didn't go back to Cult of the Lamb yet, but one day I will!
