Skin complexion in animal crossing

Shampoodle Spray Tan like I've mentioned before. A tanning booth would promote skin cancer. No, thanks.

I kinda fail to see the point there though! I mean, we have the Pokemon series that had a lot of dark-skinned characters all around the place who looked perfectly normal on its 5th gen and then they even put a dark-skinned option as a choice for the main protagonist on its 6th gen!
I think something we're all forgetting about is that Pokemon is technically a second party title, not a first. In general, Gamefreak has always seemed a step ahead of Nintendo when it's come to global inclusive. Pokemon had a playable female character by it's second generation (though late in the mix). In contrast, Fire Emblem (a first party title) didn't get it's official female option until it's 8th game in the franchise. Dixie Kong was added by Rareware, not Nintendo. And only recently have they begun to include a female option in non-spinoff multilayer Mario titles. And this is only accounting for sex.
I still stand for my idea of having the character have to focus on looking at a mirror really quickly while getting off of the train-bus-whatever takes you to your Town, once your face-initial hairstyle has been decided by Rover?s questions, just so you can quickly select skin and (Natural) hair color there. Like, maybe you just see a blurry silhouette of your character on a mirror (Just blurry enough so you cant see your face well, but visible enough so the color changes are clear and not missleading), two of those sliding thigns that appear when Harriet asks "What hair color you want" appears when you slide them you can see their skin-hair color changing, and once you are happy with the selection, you press a button and your face becomes clear. (The only downside I can see to this is a couple extra steps for plot-campsite reseters)

This is a pretty good idea. My idea was for Rover to pose one of those awkward food analogies that villagers are so fond of for some reason, but have it vaguely relate to skin color. But are these cryptic questions really worth it? They're immersive, yes... but I think the novelty is wearing thin. I love your idea. It would be great to begin the game in, say, a washroom of the train (boat/whatever mode of transportation they want) and have a look at your face that way. Then you exit to your seat occupied by Rover. Perhaps his questions could then affect your map/town landscape rather than your physical appearance. This would give players more freedom with their avatar, while keeping them immersed in the introduction.

This, also, I was considering 5th and 6th gen under the "recent inclusion and still noticeably cautious" mention.

I did not think about the difference between games that are just Nintendo and games from other companies that just happen to only release in Nintendo consoles. Hopefuly they will start daring just a bit more as time goes by?

Your idea doesnt sound bad! Rover could probably start asking some questions related to where it is that you are going, and at some point he would make a funny reference about how "He used to ask a lot of questions but some people said he was a bit too invasive, but hopefuly you two will meet again and get to know each other better". And then he starts visiting your town every now and then and you can slowly befriend him, gaining vehicle-related items and his picture at the "highest level" of friendship. (Ok I think Im going a bit too off-topic, I just really like that cat and I wish we could see him more in the game!)

I really wish we could just send these ideas straight to the people who are in charge of Animal Crossing games :P

Ohhh, I just noticed you actualy did. Sorry for not noticing that!

This is getting REALLY off topic, but that would be so much fun! I could also imagine a sort of Phineas type situation, with Rover giving you stamps from his travels or something.
