I have had a regular DS ever since it's release and it works like a charm. You don't "need" anything that you already have.

It's not the same. When Nintendo releases new DSi games that you can't play on a regular DS, you won't be able to play it, will you? And you'll miss out on DSiWare. There are so many cool new features, too. I don't see why anyone wouldn't get it.

I'll get one just because my old Mario Kart DS Red Phat is clunky. Plus, the touch screen is off by a little.
But I won't get it right now, maybe in some months or Christmas or whatever...
