I have my town set to have the Harvest Festival until tomorrow because I've been scared of it. I'm afraid I won't be able to obtain the right fish or dive stuff, so I set my game back a week.

I know...I'm a doofus...

But...was it really easy for you all, or was it more challenging than you thought?

I guess I just need some moral support. You are all so great, even when I've screwed up or done silly things.

And be nervous about an event in a game kids play. *embarrassed*

ETA - I see I have 711 bells EXACTLY! Now why don't I think that will get me a free 7-11 set that I missed out on because I didn't get the game until a few weeks after release... Lol!

It was a bit of a pain, but it was easy So long as you have fish and some fruit, you have nothing to worry about. If villagers ask for something you don't have/can't get, then just reset and try again XD

I really want to get it over with (even tho it should be a fun thing) and get to have some snow.

I guess I'll take the plunge. If I run into serious trouble I'll just ask for help, I guess! Thanks for your honest answer, Shian. I gather it is more a pain than actually difficult. Okay...almost ready to jump in. *sticks toe in water...*

Catch the following fish and you'll be fine:

A few dabs, crucian carp, and sea bass

I was also asked for a couple carp and a single olive flounder.

The villagers won't ask for fish that aren't available at the time you're playing so don't worry.

I'm glad the game will know what I need. I am just logging into my town. I think I have a few bass, mushroom, red snapper, horse mackeral, but not a dab. But I'll get one if I need to.

Thank you, both. I'm glad this isn't the way it sometimes goes when a villager asks for you to get a fish and you can't find it despite over an hour of fishing! Gah...that is the worst.

It?s easy, but very time consuming, I just stopped trying after a while because it was really boring to keep fishing for fish that wouldn?t show up, and then get fruit for it...
I didn?t really care much for the rewards anyways.

But they give you fruit on purpose. I kept getting lemons and was thinking wtf, but then Beau told me lemons were the secret ingredient.

Oh, I forgot about the horse mackrels, you need a couple of those too.

Hehe, I can relate! I also haven't had the Harvest Festival in my town yet (got behind), and I'm also a bit nervous about it since I haven't ready any guides, but know vaguely that there will be stuff I have to collect that day. Well, good luck to both of us!

I'm a few days behind as well (it's the 18th in my town I believe) and I'm super-scared as well. X_X I have all fruits except Persimmons, but I absolutely suck at diving and I've heard that some diving for rare stuff might be required. I hope I heard that wrong because otherwise I'll fail so hard, haha.

But yes. I'm nervous.

I did it with no prep at all. It takes a while, but it's not hard. Just don't toss/sell the extra fish you catch when searching, a villager might need it and trade for it.

I blew it. I missed the first secret ingredient and failed to get the cornucopia.

I just got the fruit basket.

Deep breath... Maybe my mule character can get it. (Crosses fingers).

Other than THAT screwup I did all right. I only got a couple pieces of furniture tho...wait...was I supposed to give that blasted turkey one ingredient at a time??? Argh!

Lol...we'll, I'll try with my mule and see if the game lets me.

All I had to do was catch Carp for them or bring them fruit. You can talk to the same villager more than once so it was fairly easy.

edit: I also screwed it up the first time. I accidentally skipped through the dialogue too quickly and missed the secret ingredient. I guess it wasn't too bad, at least you got the others, right? ;u;

Hey I understand, my games still in the beginning of november because I was keeping it behind so that I could do the halloween event in one session and get everything. It took lots of work but I got all the creepy stuff. Im glad that there are only a few things to get during the harvest festival, but theyre things that I really want so im going to time travel a day at a time stocking up on mushrooms, fish, etc. until im caught up with real time. I want a horn of plenty.

I had trouble getting the lobster but it was fun even though I couldn't get everything. If you are the type of getting everything than play, collect everything , store in your house and after time travel back and enjoy the festival again, lol.Good luck

That's how I get when I get all worked up. I WANT to get all the collectibles I can, so I didn't think that if I messed up I could try again.

Well, methinks I'll be enjoying the Festival again tonight.

All of my villagers asked for river fish and some ocean fish. It was super easy for me.
I finished the whole event in a little over an hour.

I too still have to play Thanksgiving (and Halloween for that matter!!), so this has been quite helpful to read through and know I should stock up on some fish beforehand. ~ I might do the same for some spare characters to get some extra stuff. I aim to play Halloween this weekend and Thanksgiving the next, so I can pace myself through the events if needed.

I have already experienced Toy day though, before deleting my very first town. And that was a nightmare for me, I failed it with my main and my mule character, and ended up making a new character to actually complete it. @.@ and that was with clues from 7/9 of my villagers! I intend on writing down everything my villagers say through December now out of paranoia from that stress.
