i've worked so hard on this one and i registered the exact day it came out and i've caught almost everything, some things which i haven't unlocked yet, but i kinda want a fresh start, but yet i don't

any advice?

If your point is getting a fresh start, don't do it. You are going to prolongate the same end: getting bored because you've beaten the game.

why not? haha when i reset my whole town, it just felt like a ton of work at the beginning but with the experience i had from my old town, i was able to make a town way way better than my old one!

i'd say go for it -- if you feel like you'll get a little homesick, enlist people to help you hold your stuff while you move! then you'll have your cash, furniture and maybe even villagers!

good luck and if you're in need of anything, send me a message!

You should reset if you're still in your first town..

like you've only ever had ONE town in new leaf? One player, one town layout..

that must be boring

Tear down all your pwp's, cut all the trees, erase your paths, and get some new villagers. Then start redecorating the town. You can even give your house a complete makeover. Make the town look completely different than it is now. Meeting new villagers is a lot of fun too.

You could always just get another copy of the game that way you still have your main town whenever you miss it :p While this seems like a wasteful option, I don't see how it's much different than buying Pokemon X/Y (or any other pokemon game). Yes, I know you get different Pokemon, but having a second town is like having more villagers.

Anyhoo, if you're going to stick to one copy like a reasonable person ;) only reset if you are sure you won't regret it later. You can always have someone hold onto some valuables for you so the start of a new town is less of a grind.

I can only tell about my own experience. I got bored and wasn't satisfied with my town or even its name. So I made a new town. First I regretted it soo badly, for a long time really. I missed my villagers and everything I had accomplished. But now I actually am happy with the new town and yes I still miss my old town but it's better this way.

So do what you want, I might regret it forever or be happy with the new town. But remember that even if you make a new town, you have to start at the very beginning and it's not much different from your old town. Almost like playing everything all over again. If you know what I even mean lol

I'm in a similar boat. I finally started making progress, but realized my town layout isn't as good as I initially thought. It's not horrible, but I didn't utilize it efficiently. I'm afraid of losing the progress (Basement, Second Floor, and main floor of my house are expanded fully; I have a Reset center and camping site, second floor of the museum, and two bridges).
However, I think, knowing what I know now, that I would enjoy starting over instead of redoing everything.
I think you should, definitely for the fresh start. You can even do things differently and get a new experience from it.

This belongs in the official resetting thread, but whatever.

Why do you want to restart? Is it just because you want something new? Then get a second copy.

Is it something like you're not sure what to do with the town? Sick of your landscaping layout?
Tear down EVERY tree and bush, put the flowers in storage or somewhere out of the way, and start all over. Hate your villagers? Never fear, cycling is here!

If it's something unchangeable or massive, like the map layout, you should definitely restart.

I say jst get another copy. If you've had it for this long, you might miss it. Theres always benefits for having 2 copies
