so should i? the cons outweigh the pros but i really need something new to do

pros:

new villagers
new start
better start (possibly)

cons:

lose all progress obviously
will loose all my dreamies
will need to reset my town and plot reset and get all of my items back
and more

i would get a new cartridge but my dad wont let me -,-

If I put all my stuff in my wardrobe and then give my wardrobe to someone else will it have my stuff in it or will it have nothing? Idk how this works

It will have nothing ;-;. You have to pour out everything and ask someone to come and pick it up. As for your dreamies, cycle them out and give it to someone trustworthy and they will cycle it back out for you when you resetted.

I would love to help but I am resetting too

It might be worth it to have somebody hold some of your more important stuff, but in my opinion having somebody hold your villagers can be a hassle. I say restart if it would get you more interested in the game again!

You haven't really given any reasons for wanting to reset your town, so it's difficult to have any kind of discussion about if it's best for you or not. If it's something you want to do, go for it

Well, the reason I want to reset my town is because I feel like theres nothing to do anymore. I only have T.I.Y and stuff, but I just feel like I have nothing to do anymore.

And you think resetting your game solves that? It sounds like your town is still new but you just don't know what to do with it, which is exactly the situation I was in. I doubted to reset again for a bit, but then I realised my current town hasn't even started progressing yet. I then started putting down paths and planning where to put some permanent pwps, and now I can't wait for the pwps to be unlocked/requested and for villagers to move so the place becomes available. You just have to get to work and start organizing your town, and there'll be plenty of things to do again. :)

I've got paths already, but I haven't gotten a PWP request since like June. My town is 2 months old, but its 3 years behind because I was bored. I'm also unhappy with my town name/mayor name.

If you want to start again, then it's a good idea to reset. You can get someone to hold your dreamies and items for you so that you won't be losing as much. If you're unhappy with your town and its name already, it's better than deciding to reset after you've made even more progress, and since you're only 2 months in, it's not like you're losing 1+ year of work on your town.

On the other hand, the fact that your town is so new probably makes it easier to change things up and it's normal that it wouldn't be very developed yet. You're just starting out! You can always change everything about your town and see if that makes the game more fun for you.

Whatever you do, just think it through first. It's easier to put up with a boring town a little longer before resetting than it is to recover your old town if you regret resetting.

3 years behind wow

it sounds like resetting might be a good idea for you then. you can give yourself a fresh start and hopefully get even further next time. Aim for a 100% complete town! Make it beautiful. Good luck to you!

I remember in my last town, I did my path ALL wrong. It covered my entire town and it would take too long to get rid of it all. As soon as I restarted, I missed my old town however, in my new town, I have been making so much more money than before (in my old town 40,000 bells seemed like a massive amount :p) and I have got the Dream Suite and the museum shop.

I'm saying that you should reset your town and, even though you might miss it, you may accomplish more that you did in your old town.

I think you should reset, y'know, to get back on track with the time. I time travel a lot too, but I try to stay within the same year.
You'll get to experience with new villagers, and even change your dreamies a bit! That's what I did. Lolly isn't a dreamie of mine anymore shes too expensive I've seen other villagers, and they're awesome. One of my dreamies is Wendy, and she is so adorable!!! She's a sheep too, which is also cool. So yeah, reset, it will be worth it ;)
