Should I replace Marshal with Rudy?

Here's my current villagers:

As you can tell, my island is 70% cat. I absolutely love Marshal, he's on my island for nostalgic reasons and I have his amiibo, but I've really got to thinking about if he actually should be on my island forever or not. Every villager on my island is a dreamie, but I've been giving Marshal 2nd thoughts. I DO need a jock villager (for the diy's you can only get from them) and I decided if I were to have a jock villager, it would go with my cat theme. I love Rudy's design, PLUS it would be nice to have some new dialogue for once (even though all jocks do is flex and try to show off, lmao!). But...If I had Rudy, I'm sure I'd love him and never want him to leave. A possible new dreamie I guess? It would suck to let Marshal go, but besides keeping him for nostalgic reasons, I can't really think of any other reason to keep him. So I'll leave it up to you guys, should I keep him, or replace him with Rudy?

I think since you have his amiibo, go ahead and replace him. If you ever regret not having Marshal, you can just use the amiibo to get him back.

If you have his amiibo and can always get him back, I'd say replace him and try out Rudy!

Keep them both. Don’t make me do this. I didn’t vote because I love them both so much. I have a really really strong and deep bond with Marshal. He’s my best boy, hands down. But Rudy is someone extremely dear to me too in a funny way. I love Rudy and stupid face so much. I had them both on my NL town and I had them both on my first NH island. I let Rudy go because I thought I should get to know other villagers. Wrong move. I regretted it so much. I missed his stupid face every single day. To me, he has the most expressive face. I got so sad I did the island hopping thing. Didn’t see him. I resorted to campsite method, he didn’t appear again. I recently reset my island because I’m doing a new aesthetic. Guess who ended up as my starter? Rudy! I was so happy. After making the campsite, my first camper was...Marshal! I about lost it. I had tears in my eyes. So I’d say keep them both if you could.

I'm going to have to agree with the others. If you have his Amiibo, you've got nothing to lose. I sometimes like to let my villagers go when they ask because it's nice to try someone new. I do still regret letting Beau leave when he asked early on in the game but I got Raymond in his place by fluke. My husband had let him move out and my daughter adopted him when he was in boxes but somehow he voided at the same time. I didn't fill my empty Beau plot fast enough and Raymond moved into it. It was a bit of a shock for me when I woke the next morning, all excited to go island hopping, only to find that Raymond had already "bought" the plot. When he was finally in and starting to unpack, we discovered that he was ALSO Raymond from Solstheim. It was really bizarre!

All of that to tell you that sometimes you are unexpectedly rewarded by shaking things up a bit.

Rudy is a great jock! I say it's time for a change and if you don't end up clicking with him, you can bring Marshal back or try a different jock.

Inviting a new marshal from amiibo will not be like the marshal you have. its a different one -
marshal will lose its sentimental value a bit if i make sense,

so if you replace marshal with rudy u should replace him cuz u want rudy more,
not because u have marshal amiibo imo

I had Rudy for a while, he's OK. I really love his toy themed house but other than that I kinda forgot I once had him. I don't find the jock's particularly interesting in this game. Although like everyone says if you have Marshal's Amiibo you may as well let him go, even if it's only temporary.

While i'd love to say keep marshall because I really love him, it seems like you're not too fussed with him, so imo I would just replace him with rudy. From what I can see you really want rudy, and his personality is one you need so honestly just go for it. From my own experience, jocks can be pretty fun to interact with since they're always so hyper as well, so that's an extra +1 for rudy.

If you need a jock on your island for DIYs, then I would there's no reason not to replace Marshal with Rudy. You can get all the DIYs you need from Rudy, and if you ever change your mind / feel regret about kicking out Marshal, you can always use the amiibo to replace Rudy. I see nothing to lose and everything to gain here.

I would let him go due to having his amiibo. If you want him back you can always use your amiibo card to move him back in again.

i would definitely bring in rudy and like already suggested, since you have marshal’s amiibo, you can always bring him back in the future ^~^
