Should I get a New 3DS or wait?

I really want a limited edition one but am trying to know if I should wait till one comes out or if I should trade in my old blue limited edition pokemon x y 3ds xl. Wow that's a mouthful

Trade in your old and get a new? Most stores seems to offer that, however I don't know if it applies to LE ones

Well, if you've got a 3DS already, then I advice you don't. There isn't THAT much difference (there is one game exclusive for it which in fact can already be played on the Wii).
The new generation handheld will be out and should be announced soon.

So far there's only one game exclusive.

There actually are quite a lot of noticeable changes when upgrading from standard 3ds to the new ones. Everything runs a lot smoothly, the battery power is longer, it's a lot lighter, 3D actually works this time around, and it's compatible with a lot of good games (Resident evil, monster hunter, majoras mask, smash bros etc)

The additional c-stick feels really natural. It feels like a different console to the standard 3DS. Also, we have no clue when the new "next gen" hand held will come from Nintendo. They've just released the new 3ds, so it's not going to be anytime soon.

I'd sell up and buy one. It's totally worth the purchase - I've had mine for over a month and I can't even think of going back to the normal 3DS.

I'm quite surprised at how expensive they sell the console : 230 $ This will keep me from buying one. I'll wait for the successor to the 3DS that will be announced at this year's E3. We only need to wait until June to know about the new Nintendo handheld...

Personally, I hate a lot of aspects of the New 3DS. The name (what were they thinking with "New"?), the design (analog stick location, additional trigger), and the fact that Nintendo is constantly releasing newer versions of their DS systems. The ONLY reason I would ever get this is if there was an exclusive game(s) that was so good that I just had to have it. There's really no rush since it just came out. I would wait.

Just wait for a limited one if you'd prefer. There's no need to get one straight away. It's not a necessity and the changes aren't all THAT important.

It also give's you time to save a bit of money so if you don't want to trade in your current one you won't have too

Well quite frankly, at gamestop we buy consoles no matter if they are limited edition or not. So even if someone came in and traded in that Majora's Mask 3DS right now, we would still give them the same trade in value as they would get for a non-LE one.
The trade in bonus is over now, so you're not going to get 100$ towards the new one. Instead you will now get around 60$. That's as long as you have the charger, stylus, and it's all calibrated and in working condition.
If you have the Pokemon XY, sell it on ebay. You could easily get at least what you paid for it. Then save that money and wait until a new limited edition one comes out.
But honestly, I don't think there will be any good ones coming out any time soon seeing as this year doesn't have too much to show for new 3DS games so far.
There won't be a Pokemon one for quite a while, nor will there be an AC one for a while. No other Zelda ones for who knows how long. So unless theres another really popular game you can think of that's going to potentially come out any time soon. You may as well just get a regular one.

I have the Pikachu 3DS XL, and someone would have to murder me before I even thought of giving it away. If its limited edition, get it.

I dunno if you can find the LE one at the stores though. I certainly did not find one in my area. I went to BestBuy, Gamestop, Target, Toys R' Us, and Walmart. All sold out. Luckily I find one online but not the LE. So I bought that instead

If I were you, I'd wait until there were more console exclusives or at least until after E3. There's not much to offer yet, but the speed difference and improved 3D is nice.
