Free game? I just signed up for Club Nintendo a few days ago (yeah, I'm behind) How does that work?
Register your copy of Mario Kart 8 on Club Nintendo before the end of the month and you get a free game. You just need to complete a short survey and you'll get to pick a game at the end of it. You're British, right? There's more information here (along with the list of games you get to pick from).

I can't get into Pikmin. My friend has it and I've tried playing it, but for some reason it doesn't appeal to me.

You and I are in the same boat. I'm trying to decide if I should get a Wii U or not. I'll be house sitting the end of this week and the money, while not really needed, would just be spent slowly anyway. I was toying with using the money to buy a Wii U. I'm not sure though.
I've been planning to get a Wii U, but it will take some heavy convincing on my parents to allow me. I would buy it now, but I'm leaning towards later if there is a price drop or when there are more games out. I just don't want to buy a Wii U and only get 1 game. I want 2 or 3 at the time, so I can switch. All my parents would say is "You already have a Wii and you don't even play it anymore!" The last time they did this, was when I bought my 3DS XL for ACNL. They told me I would eventually put it down. I proved them wrong

yeah, i bought the mk8 bundle but if some of the games right now don't appeal to you (my case) then wait until fall or winter when some good games come out.
