My main acnl cartridge sometimes takes several tries putting it into my 3ds game slot before it reads, but after it does read it functions perfectly normal with no issues when I play the game, this also happens with my pokemon x cartridge. Should I be worried about my town or do you think it's fine?

If it also happens with another game like you said, then I don't think you really have anything to worry about regarding the town itself. What I'd figure you ought to be concerned with is the 3DS.

Mine does the same thing occasionally. It's just a little wear and tear on the contacts of the cartridge. Just try not to bump the cartridge while it's inserted. You should be fine. :)

The weird part about that is that my new 3ds is less than a year old. It never used to have that problem but I did a system transfer from my old 3ds and then it started having that issue like my old 3ds did.

That makes me feel better that I'm not alone lol. It just worries me a little when it takes a few tries to read lol

Yeah. Sometimes it can take me like 3-5 times. Sometimes twice. Then afterwards I can keep taking it and and reinserting it and it'll detect it like 99% of the time. My 3DS is also pretty new (7 months old or so).

Just some wear and tear with the gold contacts of the cartridge, or they're a little dirty. Do they have black/green 'streaks' on the contacts?

Sometimes that happens to me too, its most likely from the cartridge itself or the cartridge slot in the 3ds. I dont think anything major is wrong with it though

Could be doing this for a number of reasons. Could just be some dirt is inside the DS cartridge holder. You could blow on it if there is dust inside of it, that sometimes helps for me. If you think there's dirt inside, get a cotton bud (dry) and carefully clean the inside. If you do these things and you're still having issues then it could be time to save up for a new console.

Hope this helped though!

You shouldn’t be worried since it also happens with your Pok?mon X cartridge.

I can assure you that it's the game itself and not the system. Sometimes my Pokemon Ultra Moon cartridge takes up to 5 times of me just taking it out and putting it back in. Doesn't happen with any of my other games.

Every 3DS is built differently. Some of the cartridge slots are a bit 'tighter' and will rub against the cartridge a little harder than other 3DS systems. It's wear and tear, and is completely normal. It's more noticeable when you're the type to remove cartridges frequently, or play a lot of games.

Oh wow, this would get all over my nerves. Haven?t had this happen yet, but at least I?ll know about it if it does come up.
