Shooting stars query

Hey all, I know back in Animal Crossing wild world, shooting stars were VERY rare and therefore your timing had to be perfect, and then you would get a letter with a rare item attached, now tonight in New Leaf I have discovered that the game now has nights where you will get LOADS of shooting stars all evening and you can make a wish every single time one appears (but you still have to press up on the d-pad and and sky in view to do this) so my question is this, even though it allows us to make a wish on every single shooting star, for every 'wish' we make does that mean an item for each one for just one single really rare item?

Just curious to hear peoples thoughts on this and to if there is a specific answer or not lol.

You only get one item even if you wish like 20 times. I think shooting star nights are rare anyway, and even in the last one I had, I didn't see a single one.

Only with the first successful wish that you will receive an item. The item is from the Spotlight Items list, one of which is the Throne. The Spotlight Items are the ones that the Nook Brothers will leave an announcement on the board saying it is in stock.

Whenever there is a meteor shower, I like to invite people to my town to make a wish as well. Not only will they get the item, it will also help you get more visits for the Host badge.

ahh yes its a meteor night in my town right now so did wonder why I saw so many, and also I saw the post on the bulletin board and could tell it was a change in the gameplay from ACWW and CF.

You can make a wish with all your player characters, so four letters with a gift if you have all. It helps to fill the catalogue^^

Yup, you can't just ignore them as they are so rare
