I’m not a fan of either to be fair, but if I had to pick one it’d be Sherb. He’s design is slightly more appealing to more, though I generally don’t go with pastel colours.
I just really don’t like Dom’s face. Those eyes just freak me out too much. And those eyebrows and smile.
Sherb is honestly the perfect lazy villager vibe. He is very cute and can be dressed up and down in a plethora of items that all fit well. I got Sherb as one of my 3 first additions to my island so I ended up with him and a woodsy interior, it just really helps to sell his go with the flow attitude. On the other hand, I find Dom a bit out of place for the jock role he's slated as, as well as the sheep change from scarf to shirt is not as appealing to me in this game.
Dom, hands down. I love Sherb (he's actually on my island now) but Dom is right up there at dreamie status from his expressions alone. Right up there with my dear little Stitches. Sherb is absolutely precious, but there's just something special about a fluffy little ram trying to be buff and confident while wearing his heart on his (rolled up) sleeves. So cute.
Originally, I liked Sherb over Dom, but I found Dom on one of my mystery island hops and decided to keep him because the chances of finding him again would be very slim, there's no amiibo card of him and buying him for NMT is expensive. I wasn't connecting with him, at first, but one day, out of no where, my brain decided that I suddenly did like him because his design kind of reminds me of pikachu and also because he always looks like he's on the verge of crying which is adorable. And all the cute drawings helped convince me too.
As a person who has both Dom AND Sherb on their islands this was like a nightmare of a choice to make. In the end I went for Dom because I feel like we have a closer relationship, I don't interact with Sherb as often. Since Dom is my only Jock and Sherb is one of two lazies, maybe I enjoy him slightly more because of the varied interactions we have. I also really love the sheep villagers, and Dom is my favorite sheep in NH!
Dom He is so cute I found him the other day while I was island hopping. He has so many facial expressions haha but I like how he walks its a little waddle haha
Neither tbh but since I have to choose, I'd pick Sherb. Dom is just really ugly. I can't even. He looks like he has a wrinkly chin. His face is too punchable, it makes me angry for some reason lol
Sherb. I didn't care for him when I first saw pictures of him, but the minute I set my eyes on him in-game it was instant love! He is just such a baby and so cute! I just have a reaction with him that I want to hug him and keep him safe.
Dom for sure! I never thought that the jock personality was all that tbh, because it seems like they only ever wanna talk about working out and protein shakes. Not to mention, they act like a bunch of dude-Bros and I don’t vibe with that. But Dom is a lot more special imo because:
a) His looks gives off a totally different vibe. I thought he was a girl at first until I found out he was jock personality. The colorful palette and giant sparkly eyes tell a different tale and I can’t really take him seriously, in a good way! He gives me peppy vibes sometimes and I think that makes him more special than the other villagers with his personality. It sets him apart from the rest.
b) He was one of my starters (along with Canberra) and one of the few I kept from my original ten. He wrote me rambling letters a lot when I first started playing (I’m talking four times a week), and he really grew on me.
Sherb is cute/cool, but I guess I never saw the appeal. Bob and Bones are my favorite lazies, and the best of that personality type in my opinion.
Not a fan of either of them, but I think both are solid designs. To a degree I considered both of them, but they were beat out by others in their respected personalities pretty easily. Then seeing them in most videos and my own dream visiting times has burnt me out on both of them pretty bad.
If I had to have one, I'm honestly unsure which I'd pick. I considered Sherb more, but I passed him up on a Mystery Island once or twice without too much mental crisis. His head shape is ugly and he lacks the beard some of the others have to downplay it. However his actual face is better than other goats where the mouth is like at the underpart of their head. Meanwhile Jocks has many that I greatly prefer over Dom, and I never was super interested in him.
I'd pick Sherb merely cause I could decorate his yard a bit more passionately. (I also lack a lazy)
I like Dom better, the idea of a jock villager who breaks the stereotype is really interesting to me and I love it! Sherb is just kinda bland in comparison
I need to experience them both before I can feel informed enough to answer.
Of the eight new “New Horizons” islanders, I have Cranky elephant Cyd, Jock sheep Dom, and Peppy wolf Audie. I do not have—at least not yet—Snooty bear cub Judy, Lazy goat Sherb, Normal bear Megan, Smug cat Raymond, and Uchi (Sisterly) horse Reneigh.
I am most interested in getting Raymond.
I anticipate the fun will be in finding out the order of reaching all eight. So far, for me, they came in the following order: Dom, Audie, and Cyd.
My answer, with choosing between Dom vs. Sherb, is this: Both. If you can get, and experience, them both then it is good.
I'm not a fan of either. Dom's starstruck eyes bother me and Sherb looks like a frail sick boy. If I had to choose one, it would have to be Sherb. His color palette, despite it being mostly blue, doesn't seem plain. Or at least I'm not focusing on just one part.
I like Dom more. He has this anxiety type of facial expression but his jock attitude is always upbeat and cheerful, I think that duality is charming in a way. Also his anime eyes look adorable imo.
