I send clothes to my villagers but I never see them wearing them. What am I doing wrong? I want them to have cute things on haha

It's trial and error. If you wanna make it less tedious, mail the clothing before 5 pm, then save and quit. Once it's over 5 pm, load the game then walk around and check if the villager is wearing the one you just sent. If not, exit to home menu then load it again until they wear it (then save) :p

Oh awesome haha. I might have to try that! I keep sending all my cute clothes away and who knows where they end up!

Probably displayed in their homes XD Hopefully not! And goodluck!

I haven't seen them in there either, they must hate my fashion choices haha and Thank you!!

Ugh... I'm gettin' PTSD thinkin' about spendin' outfits to villagers. I had Lolly and Diana to change outfits, Diana's wearin' a No. 2 Shirt and Lolly was wearin' one of the default outfits from the Able Sisters.
Lolly change'd her outfit on my first try, so I was happy for that. Diana on the other hand...
I've sent her at LEAST 20 outfits and she STILL won't change of it! I even try'd on her birthday and times where I sent a barrage of 4 letters at once!

Is there somethin' I'm really missin' here?
Oh, as an extra note. Diana only use'd one of outfits I've sent to her in her home. Otherwise, all other 20+ is gone into ether.

As stated above, the best way to do it is to send it right before Pete delivers mail. Honestly, it's a toss-up. Don't send your villagers anything you don't want them displaying in their house. They might wear what you sent, but they might just put it on display, instead.

theres actually a really reliable method on getting villagers to wear clothes! if i remember correctly you have to send them 5 copies of the clothes you want them to wear. they'll wear one of the ones you sent and display another in their house. i dont mind too much that they put it in their house, plus when they invite me over i just buy it back.

or you can just hack them to wear whatever but idk if we can discuss that on the forums?

I was lucky enough to get Wolfgang to wear the bunny tee on my first try lol He must've really loved it! But now he wears the Rugby tee, but he still looks adorable :) I guess it's just trial and error. When I had Skye, I wanted her to wear a certain shirt, so I sent the same one a bunch of times, and she put them all on display. But then Flo was like "oh here's a pink parka" and she wore that instead. -.-
So, it's luck and trial and error probs lol

5 letters at once or 5 in a row?

What's this "trial and error" bein' thrown around here? Is there like a list of outfits that a certain villager would simply refuse to wear at all? Or is it just luck?

Villagers will also wear the designs set up in the Able Sister's shop, so you could always make cute designs there and they will wear them! That's what I do!

Villagers have their own preferences when it comes to favorite style and color but it doesn't always work when you're trying to make them wear a specific outfit, or maybe the friendship level has something to do with it. But I still think, based from experience, that it's about luck.

I think it's got something to do with luck too. xD
