hello friends!
I'm hoping someone out there can help me with my stupid SD card. I have an old, cruddy 2GB card in my 3DS that is literally falling apart. the lock switch fell off [I was able to fix it so it's not permalocked], the casing is coming apart, and a bit of the plastic actually snapped off so a tiny corner of the actual card is showing. it still works fine, but I'm to the point where I'm afraid to take it out of my 3DS to transfer pictures or whatever for fear of snapping it in half..
I have heard horror stories of people backing up data on their computers and it getting corrupted, the 3DS no longer recognizing save games, etc etc. I have a physical NL copy but my 2nd WIP dream town is a dowloaded copy on my SD card, as well as a bunch of NES games [woo Ambassador status] and not to mention all my NL photos!!

tl;dr my main question is: is there a safe, effective way to permanently transfer your data from one SD card to another?

also I really hope this is in the correct forum, apologies if it's not..I'm still new here~~

You could move all the files from sd card to your computer and keep em there and move them back onto a newer sd. But be sure to not miss ANY of the files as some of these check the validity of the save files and games. Even check for 'hidden' files and folders.
