Screamo Music

Hah. Very typical views on the genre. Hardcore, as all call it is not all bad. You just have to find to right bands. Also when you said that it takes no talent, you are absolutely wrong. I hate to bash you but that is such a closes and idiotic way to look at it. The screaming actually takes a ton of practice and commitment. I'd like to see you try to scream for 40 minutes for 6 days a week. The drummers of hardcore bands are ****ing insane and the guitars and bass have to be very tight live. It is the HARDEST music to play, especially if you are just beginning. Please actually know what your talking about before you bash it.

Dont criticize what you cant understand.

Many of my thoughts have already been posted here.
Thank you sir.

Now if any idiots feel like rap is **** and doesn't need talent, Then I'll be happy enough to explain to you why. Also I really don't like screamo, it may not be crap but whatever, I'll stick with my Tyga and Tech N9ne.

Not my thing, but I'm amazed at how people can do that.

I've tried, and failed. lol

reminds me of a friend of mine who liked tech n9ne

wonder if he still does

I know Micah will agree with me here. Though i wouldn't call it screamo, Family Force 5 (crunk rock), Red (hardcore rock), and Pillar (hardcore rock) are all Christian groups. Some of their songs (a lot of them for the last two) have "screamo" in them. They're not disturbed in anyway, in fact, they're quite the opposite.

More people aren't going to like screamo, though.
This is true. Everyone has natural normal instincts to avoid or dislike an inaudible scream from something, especially when it's backed by someone senselessly banging on drums as ****ing loudly as they can.

unless you bring up a source outside of this discussion itself (likes a news/science journal/feed), you don't have any evidence other than "we say so so it's true" which doesn't work, unless you're trying to say that right here, right now, on this forum alone, it's less popular. in which case, append a poll and let's get crackin.

poop poop poop

I'd say the same thing about anything on the radio. No talent, made for money, made to be appeal to people who aren't open to deeper and personal music.

Like Zex said, you have to find the right bands. I don't personally listen to screamo that much, but there is good stuff out there.

It is a digrace to music, my friends love it but I absoutively hate it. They say it's talent I say it's an ear sore. at least there are people that agree with me on this pile of crud

Okay, so since we're going on the basis that if you don't like it, it's not good music; then I don't like Lady Gaga, so she's terrible and untalented, a majority of members here don't like Beiber, so by your logic, he must be a terrible singer, despite the many fans he has, etc. The list goes on and on.

Generally, music is pleasant to the ears, but screamo is in now was pleasant.

Pop is made to be pleasent. If no one pushes the boundaries we would still listen to classic jazz. Hardcore is made to give you a feeling inside, not to be pleasent or get a message across. If you want a message listen to folk and if you want something hollow listen to pop. Rock is somewhere in the middle, unless your considering 60's and 70's

What feelings do you empathize when you hear someone screaming? Terror, fright, and disgust? Those are the correct answer, in no way should someone screaming give you a pleasant and relaxed feeling.
Also screamo music does tend to send a message, usually on how badly their lives suck, suicide, cheap girls, and witchcraft. I think you meant to say if we want to listen to a positive, uncorrected message then listen to folk?

What everyone seems to be bringing up here is their own, bad experiences with hardcore music. That they listened to one song and then condemned the genre. Maybe be a little bit more open-minded eh?
