I think mine was also very similar to yours 👀 are these colours a UK thing?

Green for Science
Orange for Humanities (which is like history)
Blue for Maths
Purple for English
Dark Orange for Advanced Science (I can't remember what it was called but it was something like that, science for the top sets)
And then Beige for a 'jog book' which was just used for random notes and scribbles.

Red for "English"
Blue for Math
Green for Geography
Orange for History
Yellow for Politics
Purple for Foreign Language 1
Black for Foreign Language 2
Pink for Music
Dark Green for Biology
Dark Red for Physics
Dark Blue for Chemistry

I think that's about it.

I don't really remember doing that in high school. I think it was random for the most part, especially since they'd usually provide the notebooks and sometimes we couldn't really pick a color unless we traded with someone else. In college I couldn't really color code them by subject since I would've ended up with like 3 pink math notebooks. I'd just rank my current courses and the colors of notebooks I had from most liked/excited for to least liked/excited for (pink, blue, or black was always first) and assign them accordingly :p

I never associated colors to subjects but I would use binders each subject or two. I don’t like the idea of having a notebook for each subject cus that’s a lot to carry imo. I usually didn’t use lockers in ms/hs except for textbooks cus I would have classes far from each other on campus. I usually used binder papers and a notebook thats meant for 2+ subjects. Now I just carry binder paper in a folder (which is rarely used tbh) and my iPad.

I color code my classes’ online portal with pastel colors if that counts tho LOL

hoo boy my memory is awful but this is what i remember:

blue for english
red for math
green for social studies
black for science ;;

Well I didn't do it that much, but at one point, it was mandatory for me.
It was only blue for English and yellow for math.
I actually don't remember the rest though, but its only what I know so far.

For me it always has to be:
Blue for science (after multiple sciences, I would use a more aqua for chem or something)
Green for any humanities subjects
Yellow for english
Red/orange for mathematics
Purple for music
and pink for art/any other things I needed

whatever order things ended up in, is where they ended up.

I'm not really picky. In high school, I had this horrid system where I used one notebook for every class and just had all my notes mixed together.

That didn't necessarily get solved when I got to college btw lol. My notes are as misplaced and jumbled as ever.
Though I try to keep subjects separate from each other now. Depending on classes I'll use different things, though.

ie. humanities/general education stuff -> usually typed notes, i prefer using markdown because that's what I'm used to, and I'm weird about it.

enginering/math/most stuff -> usually a small B5, thinner notebook. I stock up when I go to asia - I like the paper more and thinner means easier to carry around.

Honestly, I don't remember that far back, but I know I had different colors for different subjects. It didn't stay the same each year, though. Sometimes it was dependent on what was available at the store when school started or I needed a fresh one.

Currently, I'm working on a series bible for my writing and each book is color coded. I have a key so as to keep things straight.

I always used the thicc 5-star ones because my handwriting is on the bigger side and I like to doodle :P
For me, it was
-Green for science
-Red/Yellow for English
-Orange/Yellow for History
-Purple/Blue for Math

Nowadays all my classes are English or Comp Sci, so I can’t really follow this anymore. And I like to use OneNote, but it still allows for colored notebooks, so that’s nice.

Math was red
Science was green
English was blue
And Social Studies/History was yellow

I used Lisa Frank notebooks for my other extra curriculums :')

I always got the ones with kittens on them. You were required to have plain notebooks?
some of my teachers in high school were specific with what kind of binders/notebooks they wanted you to have. in college my professors didn't give a crap so i went wild with cute stationery lol

It's been a really long time for me, so I've forgotten what colors I used, but I know I did color code my books/binders/notebooks by subject. I think it might have changed from year to year, though, depending on what colors I was able to buy.

I believe I almost always used some form of purple/mauve for English, Math was probably blue, Science was probably green/yellow, and I can't remember the rest. Some of my classes required us to use those black & white composition notebooks, though, so unfortunately I didn't get to choose colors for them.

My school predominately uses iPads but paper and traditional schoolwork are also utilized. It depends on the class, really. Some are nearly 100% iPad, some are 50/50, and some are nearly 100% pen and paper.

This past school year that just ended, I did it like this:
Math: mostly iPad and red folder
Band: iPad and light blue folder
English: rarely iPad and THICK dark blue binder
History: green notebook and eventually pink notebook when green ran out of space, also a green folder, almost never iPad
Theology (I go to Catholic school): iPad and magenta folder
Spanish: iPad, light blue notebook
Chemistry: nearly 100% iPad except for tests

Now, Spanish and Chemistry share a dark blue folder that I call the “miscellaneous crap folder” because neither class used enough paper to justify its own folder. It was a great system!

Due to a shortage of supplies where I lived for a few years and not wanting to confuse my binders with my twin sisters, mine were always different. That being said, I do have designated colors! they are...
Green for Science
Red/Purple for Math
Yellow/orange for History
White for English
Light blue for French
Since my school posts a lot of work for us to work on our computers with, binders are mainly just a secondary thing. But it's nice to re-live some old nostalgia of binders and who had the coolest ones.
