scanning in special characters

When you scan in a special character to your campground, is that character unavailable in his or her usual location for the remainder of the day? Example, if I scan in Isabelle will I be unable to start a pwp on the same day, or if I scan in Cyrus could I not get something customized until the day after?

When you scan an NPC into your campsite, Wisp takes place of that character. So if you scan in Isabelle, Wisp would take her place and you wouldn't be able to work on anything until the next day.

As stated, you won't be able to carry out the tasks that a particular NPC carries out if you scan them in. It's why I typically scan amiibo in near the very end of my sessions, once I've sold/bought what I need, and gotten a PWP started if I planned on starting one that day.
