Saving from the void?

If you accidently void a villager, I think I have heard they can be saved if a person comes to your town, but...

Is it true?

It's not 100% but yeah, if you have a villager in your void and you visit someone that has space for a villager that villager may move into their town. You can pick up voided villagers from streetpass as well.

Yes it is true if you void a villager it has a chance to move to the next town you connect with over the internet. If you streetpass someone or if someone visits your town or you visit them the villager can move to their town.
A few cases when this happened to me: Hamlet moved to my town after I street passed someone. Buck moved from my town to a friends town after she visited me. I got Blaire from someones void when they came to adopt a villager from me.

I just can't remember how many freakin times my girlfriend and me have accidentally switched undesirable villagers, just for playing together ;-;

So yeah, it works.
