Sanrio items not on catalog

Ah. I've noticed this a while back and tested some stuff. According to my experience, it looks like you gotta order from the van & receive it through the mail yourself otherwise it doesn't show up in your catalog, regarding specific Sanrio items. Possibly it's a glitch.

Certainly does not sound intended! Thanks for clearing that up. :)

Its not a glitch. It means the item you have is hacked. It's hard to explain, but I'll try. In the game code, there are a few dummy versions of the Sanrio items. I can't remember exactly which ones have dummy items, but if I'm not wrong, I think it would be the Hello Kitty clock, the My Melody clock, the Kiki and Lala clock, and the Pompompurin tv. Also, not all of the Sanrio stuff have dummy versions, I think. But anyway, if you have the dummy version of a Sanrio item, it won't show in the catalog. Here's what I'm talking about: dum.jpg

See how there are two listed items for Hello Kitty clock? One of them is the dummy, one of them is 'genuine' but I can't remember which is which.

The dummy version of the Sanrio items won't hurt your game in any way, at all. But until you get your hands on a real version of the item, it won't show in the catalog. One way to do that is to order them from an RV, even if the RV was 'hacked in'. The game will still count it as 'genuine' and that will get the item into your catalog. Another way is to just have someone give you a real version. Once you get the genuine version into your catalog, it'll be impossible to tell a dummy from a real deal.

Hmmm, while it sounds interesting, I can confirm it's not accurate. Since those specific Sanrio items that didn't show in the catalog of a character in my main town that this character catalogued were all ordered from the RV myself - ordered by other character in this town. And all my cards were bought from the 24 shop where Nintendo was selling them at back then. So no chance that they're hacked.
Though, it's no wonder even if there are those difference in program codes. I even wish if all the items in game did, so you can choose if you want it or no.

Maybe everyone's case is different, but I know for a fact my post was based on my experience, and it was true with me. But maybe you're right, and this is a different case. If you did in fact order from the RV, then I truly don't know. But before I got my RV cards, that was my experience.

Either way, you'll have it in your catalog by ordering it from the van yourself. My best bet about those certain Sanrio items is that their internal codes are possibly replacable to certain different codes. Not sure what it has to do with this catalog issue though.

I've gotten Sanrio from both sources, third party traders and the cards. I obviously can't confirm the legitimacy of Sanrio items I've gotten from other trades on here, but I would assume they were all nonhacked. My sanrio cards came from EU though, does that contribute?
I didn't notice that things didn't catalog until Marty's TV was mentioned, that's the only one that's not showing for me. I think if it came down to the coding variants, everyone would be missing every item with a variant? Isn't there multiple Gracie items that fall into that as well?

I've, however, never displayed any Sanrio items and think I've only ordered that set once. I'll have to order directly from the RV and see if it fixes.

Regarding the possibility of various items missing from catalog due to coding variants, I don't think so. (Not very sure though) If you have some experiences of coding/maintaining the huge program/software, you'll see they're like, a pitfall. In general, the program gets through certain routine just when it has certain conditions, like a hidden bypass. When it's a huge program, it's never possible to find everything out in a certain length of time. So I'm guessing those items had the condition to arise the certain hidden bypass. Not that all the items cause it. That's what I meant by coding variants.
Though, it's just a wild guess haha.

If you could keep us posted after ordering them yourself, it'd be greatly appreciated. :)

Well, after ordering from Marty's, I'm inclined to agree with everything Yuki's said. It was the same in my case, directly from RV catalogs it. I'm guessing originally I ordered from a secondary character, as the Pompompurin set had been rotting in my locker for a while. It being EU cards didn't seem to matter at all also.

The others mentioned in this thread, I never noticed had cataloging issues, but I also recently ordered most of the sets for someone---so I guess that's why I never noticed, as they showed up lol.

I'm going to make a new secondary character and confirm if picking legit ones up does anything or if that character will also have to order. :)
