Same Sex Schools

What is your opinion on this concept? I had to write a paper a few weeks ago on whether or not we think children should go to a single gender school. The class was split up in two, and one half of the class wrote about why there should be single gender schools, and the other half wrote why there shouldn't be single gender schools. After we wrote our paper we had a debate about it in class(heh, the argument was a little lopsided since most of us thought that children shouldn't be forced into it). So, I was just wondering what you guys thought about it.....

I've done a debate on this topic before too. I agree, same sex schools are not necessary. For all those people that say, "Well it is better because then they will pay attention to their work instead of worrying about the opposite sex." but what happens when you graduate from school? The real world isn't divided into what gender you are. Children need to learn to interact with everyone not just people of their own gender.

Same Sex Classes were drag. In 7th grade, our school tried the same sex P.E., Math, and Science classes. Didn't work out well. For everyone.

scientists have a little "theory" that there is a "gay" gene, but they can't completely prove it. i mean, honestly, if you would just take the time to think about it, you'll slowly figure out that nobody is really "born" gay

there is a girl that rides my school bus, and she is totally lesbian, but she said she decided she was gonna be gay in like the 5th or 6th grade, when she thought that her teacher was hot
