From the article which can be found here:

This week, however, Rune Factory 4 was rated by the USK, Germany?s videogame rating board, with Xseed and Marvelous listed as the game?s publishers. Following the rating, Siliconera got in touch with Xseed?s Executive VP, Ken Berry, to find out if the game was going to be released in Europe after all, and the reply we received should make our European readers happy: Xseed hope to release Rune Factory 4 as an eShop title in Europe.

?The situation is that we know the Rune Factory 4 fans in Europe have suffered enough with one cancellation already,? Berry said to Siliconera, ?so we didn?t want to announce anything until the game passed [Nintendo of Europe] certification and we were sure its digital-only eShop release was imminent since we are using a different programming house to try to pick up where the original dev team left off.?

I asked Berry if he could say which team was taking over programming duties for Rune Factory 4?s release and if he could say how much work on the title had been done.

?Though I can?t disclose which development house is handling the PAL localization programming duties for us, I can say that it?s been in the works for months already and we hope to start the master submission process with NOE within the next couple weeks,? Berry replied.

So, there you go. Rune Factory 4 is coming to Europe after all.

oH MY GOSH I AM SO HAPPY WE ARE BLESSED WITH THIS GAME AT LAST!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to put this on my "Maybe" list. I'd have been more excited about this game if I didn't have Fantasy Life now. :p

I won't start any other game while I have Fantasy Life on the go, That is so addictive I can't put it down. The Disney this month will be bought and put into storage for a later date, and will probably do the same with Rune Factory 4.

Yeah, I know the feeling; time really flies when I play Fantasy Life! I'm half debating on whether or not to cancel my pre-order for Disney Magical World and then maybe get a used copy later. I have a feeling it might be too similar to Fantasy Life so it's something that can wait (even though I was very excited when I found out DMW was coming to Europe, how ironic...).

I have the same feeling about Rune Factory 4. I've read several reviews and many people say this is an absolutely awesome game, but now that I have FL, RF4 can wait. And the same goes for DMW, so ah ah ah, I'm just confusing myself. :p

It's great RF4 will be in the eShop, though; that way we don't have to worry about the game being out of stock or something. But from what I've found here, this game takes 10,964 Blocks for the NA version, so assuming the EU version is more or less the same, this means I won't even have enough space on my SD card, oops. Guess I'll have to buy a new one at some point and try to figure out how to move my game data and stuff.

Rune Factory 4 officially confirmed for release next week in Europe

XSEED Games and Marvelous have officially announced that Rune Factory 4 is slated for release in Europe ? as well as Australia ? next week. It?s due out on December 11 for ?24.99 / ?29.99 / $49.95 AUD.

The official announcement:

London, 4th December 2014 ? XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe are delighted to announce that Rune Factory 4 for the Nintendo 3DS? system will finally be cropping up in Europe and Australia on 11th December, 2014, exclusively via the Nintendo eShop at an RRP of ?24.99/?29.99 and $49.95 AUD, respectively.

Rune Factory 4 is the latest instalment in the critically acclaimed Bokujo Monogatari spin-off series, which revolves around the same addictive life simulation and farming activities that its father franchise, now known as STORY OF SEASONS, is famous for. The Rune Factory series, however, also incorporates classic action-JRPG elements into the mix, all framed in a stunning fantasy setting. Taking place in the Kingdom of Norad, players must fill the shoes of a Prince or Princess and aid the people of a small, picturesque town named Selphia in achieving lasting peace and prosperity.

Created by acclaimed series producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto, Rune Factory 4is by far the most ambitious title in this storied series. Boasting countless items, crops, weapons and other pieces of equipment to find and grow, as well as a substantial story with richly developed characters, innumerable hours of enjoyment await within the humble confines of this download. Players must farm and find romance among the town?s singles before setting off into the wilderness and surrounding dungeons to defeat or tame monsters. It?s a mix of play styles that has garnered well-earned praise both from fans and critics alike.

Rune Factory 4 has been the most successful iteration in the series to date, having sold out at North American retail stores on numerous occasions due to unprecedented demand. Fans outside of Japan and North America have been desperate to get their hands on this Nintendo 3DS system exclusive title ever since.

?We know how great Rune Factory 4 is, which is why we?re so happy it?s releasing in PAL territories? commented Steven Tarry, Marketing Manager, Marvelous Europe. ?2014?s been a great year for Nintendo gamers, and this really is the icing on the cake.?

?Rune Factory 4 is irresistibly charming.? IGN

?Simply put, you?ll never have a shortage of things to do in Rune Factory 4??US Gamer

?Rune Factory 4 provides an infinite amount of gameplay that doesn?t end once the main story does.? Nintendo World Report

Rune Factory 4 features:

Huge game world ? The incredibly large and diverse amount of activities on offer ensure that each day is a new adventure

Customise your battle strategy ? Use swords, spears, staves plus other weapons, Rune Abilities and more to personalise your battles, and bring friends or even monsters with you into combat for moral and tactical support

Start a passionate romance! ? For the first time in series history, players may choose a male or female protagonist, then pursue the dream of a loving wife or a caring husband from among the game?s colorful cast of characters

Take charge of the town ? The game?s ?Order? mechanic allows players to employ their regal powers to hold festivals, enact sweeping changes and otherwise make Selphia into a town that people just can?t stop talking about

Rune Factory 4 will release for the Nintendo 3DS system exclusively via the Nintendo eShop on 11th December 2014 at an RRP of ?24.99/?29.99/$49.95 AUD

So basically two games I'm interested in (the other one being the Ace Attorney Trilogy) come out on the same day, meaning I'll probably have to buy a new SD card and put some money into my eShop account as well, haha. But I'm excited, though, and really looking forward to playing both games! <3

Woops! Didn't know their was another earlier board for rf4 x_x
Hope you EU folk enjoy it! It's a great game.

Pretty sure the ushi no tane forums have good guides for monster drops and other things like wooimg the bachelors and bachelorettes.
I still haven't married anyone on my copy haha x)

Thanks for the advice; I'll make sure to check out those forums! <3 I've never played Rune Factory before so I'm not entirely sure what to expect and how it works. From what I've read it seems I won't get bored with it soon, though. I really hope so because I kinda got tired of Fantasy Life and am having a hard time getting back into the game. x_x

here's the link to the forums, everything you'll need seems to be stickied already :o

There are lots of things to do in rf4, so I don't think you'll get bored easily. plus the 3 story arcs are pretty long (and the last one is randomly triggering....>>; ) and there's lots of dungeons that aren't as straightforward as in FL - it's quite fun with loads of stuff to do~ and crafting is not as annoying as in Fantasy life! so I think you'll be happy about that! and everything you do is basically assigned a level (running, farming, /everything/) and the cap is so high I don't even remember what it is (definitely beyond fantasy life's caps even with dlc)

only thing I can think of that disappointed me about RF4 was the graphics. It looks practically the same as all the other RF games (from the DS...@_@). I don't really care about graphics that much (plus the 3ds isn't that powerful of a machine, but still) I found that kind of bothered me :/ the character art is pretty though, which is nice.

Thank you for the link! <3 I took a look at the forums and read the thread about dating and such and holy macaroni; that is a lot of information! x_x I'm sure it'll be clearer and easier when actually playing the game, but right now my brain is about to explode, LOL.

I had the same thought about the graphics; it feels like a DS game. But if I can get used to Fantasy Life (where I also wasn't sure whether to buy the game or not because of the graphcis), then I think I can get used to this as well. ^_^

Out of curiosity, how accurate would you say this is? Click. I know it's, of course, different for everyone but I thought it'd be longer than between 58 hours (main story) and 84 1/2 hours (main + extras). o_o

But yay for not getting bored easily! I'm not sure how different it is from Fantasy Life and I loved playing that game but at some point I just was "now what?" There's a lot to do in FL, but some of it (i.e. the Crafting Lives) is just so repetitive and boring to me. x_x

*facepalm* I want to order a SD card on Amazon and the one I want takes apparently 4 to 7 weeks to ship. x_x

I guess it'll be a while before I'll be able to download this game then. -_-' I guess in the meantime I can read more about it, so it's cool. ^_^

My issue with that link is I dunno what people call "main story" and "extra". There are three main arcs (but the last is kind hidden so some people might not count it). Plus dating and marriage might be seen as " extra" for some people, but "main" for others. There are also dungeons you can grow in your field that you can do. Plus you can choose to take part in event days, or to speed run everything. Rf4 is really open ended!

I played around 46h (according to my activity log) and that was just the first two arcs. Didn't marry anyone either. I think I burnt out since I haven't picked it up since >_> I had two farm fields and was trying to date like three guys though LOL

I actually thought fantasy life looked really nice! But I felt rf4 was a step backwards compared to all the other games that are out x) but the game did come out a very long time ago in Japan, we just got it super late.

I am so excited for this game it's my birthday tomorrow and I'm not even thinking about that I'm thinking about Thursday when I can play Rune Factory 4!!!!!!

I love you Leon & Vishnal :x
