X and Y forms are suited for different things. X for is meant for Physical Offense and increased bulk, while also ridding the poor guy of his Stealth Rock two hit KO. However, because he doesn't have as much Physical Attack as Y does in terms of Special Attack, his "useless ability" grants him 30% more damage to all moves that make contact, (mainly) physical moves, which he's good at. Granted, he has the same Special Attack too, but if you were going to use a Special Charizard, you might as well be using Y. X could be a Mixed Pokemon but due to his ability, he would be better off with Physical attacks which rival Y's Special attacks. I used complete in tournaments all over the states for money and prizes so...I would know a thing or two.

I don't know anything about Pokemon except that Venusaur is adorable and I wish I had one irl.

Yeah I've competitive battled for over 8 years, I also know a thing or two about Pok?mon.. Regardless of what Charizard's stats are, I absolutely despise it.. It is a useless Pok?mon in my eyes, and is outclassed by so many different Fire-types, even in Mega

I dislike Venusaur as my friend has Venusaur and everytime we wifi battle Venusaur puts all my Pok?mon to sleep.

I've never competitively battled before, but from what I saw on Youtube, it's mainly entry hazards and stat boosting moves. That would be really annoying, in my eyes.

Fire Types barely outclass each other. The Fire Type is a terrible type. The majority of them have shallow movepools and have no real strength on their own. The only two great Pokemon are both Legendary (Heatran and Victini) and they still suffer from some of the most common type moves in the game. Besides, Stealth Rock cuts them down, even more depending on the type. And with SR being so common...it's no wonder Game Freak gives fire types the coolest designs, they have to make up for how terrible they are. (Before you jump my boat, Houndoom [and his mega] have always looked so awesome to me, but they suck. Balls.)
