Has anyone else noticed the huge amount of towns in Animal Crossing named Rosewood??
Is it just me noticing this? I think the name is super cute, I've visited tons of Rosewoods, is there a reason why this name is so popular?
It's the name of a racial massacre. I just looked it up on Google and that was one of the first things that showed up. I still don't see why it's popular though.

It would be really awful to name your town that and then find that out. A lot of towns are named "something"wood or foods.

I doubt they were trying reference a massacre. But it'd be a fitting neat name town for something like Animal Crossing.
Strange though, I Googled Rosewood myself and I got results for art galleries, trees, and wood polishing for crafts and furniture.
It did list the massacre and movie as related searches on the bottom.
I never heard of the massacre. I don't have a "Rosewood" but almost did. I have a "Roseberg," because my g-grandmother's name was Rose, but when I found out that she was allergic to trees and had an understandable phobia about them (and her being married to a farmer, no less!) I changed my mind and named my town "Roseberg."
