Rosalina

As 2013 has been the year of Luigi, Rosalina is getting loads of attention recently. You can expect her to be in several games next year. How do you feel about this new "Year of Rosalina?"

I'd say it's a good thing. Nintendo seems to be broadening the interest level to get females playing their games. And Rosalina is a good example. She represents females in society very well. She can actually fend for herself, and not get kidnapped every 5 seconds (talking to you, Peach). She even has a backstory, and was actually introduced to the Mario series. I think Nintendo is taking a good step forward with their decision.

What do you think? Do you think she should stay or go?

Has Rosalina been big in anything besides being announced for the next smash brothers? I haven't heard anything else so I can't exactly say it's bringing on a whole new 'year of [character]' (and honestly I didn't really feel this as a year of Luigi either).

Regardless, I'm excited to play as her. I just wish she had a more unique appearance. At first when I started playing Super Mario Galaxy I thought there was going to be some kind of twist where she was Peach from the future or something since they look so much alike.

Regardless, I don't feel there's enough of her appearing in games to justify 2014 being the "year of Rosalina". At least Luigi had his own game, and appeared in quite a few. But maybe there's some unannounced things she'll be appearing in??

I use Rosalina when I can (i.e. MK7) so yes that could be interesting, though I can't really see what sort of side-game you could make with her.

Hasn't Rosalina been introduced in the first Mario galaxy game? That's pretty far back. I don't imagine a Year of Rosalina for quite a while.
Luigi is totally different though.

She'll be in Mario Kart 8 and was already added to Super Mario 3D land.

Regardless, she is getting more attention, and even if she didn't appear in too many games, she's an excellent character to emphasize on.

I remember playing the GameCube game when I was young. I didn't know what to do but it was still fun.

Rosalina is so pretty. When I first played super mario galaxy, I thought she was Princess Peach and she somehow escaped from Bowser and was in disguise.

Obviously I was wrong.

Rosalina is just so amazing ugh I love her <3 The only reason I bought Super Mario 3D World was her (but it is an amazing game in it's own right and I HIGHLY recommend it) Plus, when they had first announced Mario Party 9, I emailed Nintendo whether or not they would include Rosalina...haha I was a bit desperate to play as her in something. 2014 could easily be The Year of Rosalina! So far she has Smash and MK8 going for her and it's still early in the year so we could see a lot more of her (and I hope we do). So excited to play with her in Smash! Even if I end up being pretty sucky as her, I'm gonna practice until I can use her to her maximum potential!

Can't be "Year of Rosalina" when it's "Year of Persona". That said I really do enjoy Rosalina as a character and look forward to seeing her return to the next "Galaxy" type game.

I thought so too because the bottom of the observatory looked like Peach's Castle. Just my opinion.
