"It's fine, don't worry about it. I'd tell you the whole story, but you know, not exactly the best situation." "Bri, Dad always leaves his keys on the coffee table."
After a quick glance around the room to make sure there's no soldiers or anything, I locate the keys to the car. I snatch them up from the coffee table, then freeze as I hear movement from the kitchen. For a brief moment I pause, the tiny hope that it might be Dad crossing my mind, but I snap out of that as soon as I spot the butt of a black rifle past the door. I Sprint out of the house, fumbling with my keys to press the 'unlock' button. "Get in the car!" I yell to the others.
I quickly climb into one of the back seats of the car, and then watch Abrianna anxiously.
As I run out of the house, I slam the door shot and knock over stuff in the yard, trying to create obstacles to buy me a bit more time. I make it to the car and jump into the drivers seat, starting the car and pushing down on the accelerator before the door is even closed.
"No problem! Friends help each other, right?"
I keep an eye o the soldier through the wing mirror, until we're far enough away when I turn a corner. We should stick to back streets. L:ess chance of being seen and stopped somehow.
"Bri, where are we actually going?" I ask curiously, staring out of the window as we drive.
"Sina said we should meet up at Pensylvania. So thats where we're going." If we actually make it there...
"I guess we're not gonna kn- ****, hang on..." Spotting several vans up ahead, I turn down a different street and detour around them. "Like I was saying, we won't know till we get there."
"Yeah we won't know till we get there that is a good thing" I say and they look out the window thinking about my family and fiddling with charm bracelet that had gymnastics charms on.
"I have gymnastics is my whole life so it been taken away from me is hard" I say and look in my bag and find my phone and start to show her pictures of me at competition'.
