Rex's Poster Only Searchable?

I recently decided to have a little "Hall of Villagers" at least at the Photo Studio and since I missed Rex's poster (and a couple of others), I got his poster from a friend and when I went to see it in the catalogue, I couldn't find it in the poster section or anywhere in the catalogue. I was only able to find it when I used the search feature? Is this normal or am I missing something?

Just to be clear, Rex does not live on the island anymore.

You should be able to order it from the Special Goods section, either at the ABD or the shopping app on your phone. The second tab lists posters.

Edit: sorry, misread your post. You'd have to scan him in on Harv's island to be able to order it.

I think it might be because you got the poster from your friend, rather than having him in a photo shoot yourself.

I went to a poster catalog session. All the posters I've cataloged does not show up on the list unless you manually type and search for it. Apparently, it's a bug of some sort. At least it's still registered. I was initially afraid that all of that cataloging was for nothing.

Did you get a letter stating you can now buy posters? I forget if it's from Harv or the Nook Miles program. It takes a few days.

This happened to me at first, but then I got a letter stating I can now buy posters and the section for it appears in the Nook Shopping thing, right next to the time-related promotional items (rn the summer solstice crown, winter sweater, Thank You dad mug, ect...)

only posters you obtained yourself will be found under the “posters only” section - meaning if you got a poster from inviting that villager to harvey’s island, those are the only posters that show up under that section.

any poster obtained another way (ex. cataloging), only show up when you search for it ;;
