Returning player: are the outdoorsy tools better than regular ones?

I haven't played animal crossing for ages and have missed many updates such as the swimming one. Are these new tools better than regular ones? I can buy them from the store. :S

They last a bit longer before breaking and they are nice looking.

The tools from the store have the same durability as the upgraded diy tools you make with the flimsy tool and iron nugget. The only better tools are the golden ones and they still break

Thanks for the feed back guys! They do look better better, I thought the game was trying to be deceptive and it was only a cosmetic difference.

and same durability as the regular tools snd all the other nook store variants, as mentioned above
