I saw someone from a thread mention how when one of the villagers with default houses move out, the default houses won’t carry over. So could I have someone hold my villager with a default house then have them cycle back out for me to recruit again to fix their house? Does anyone have experience doing this?

It would definitely work, but its just such a hassle. I really hate how nintendo has done it, same with the amiibo houses (if you force a villager out with amiibo the amiibo moving in will keep the same house as the villager moving out)

You’re talking about exterior right? So best course of action would be to move someone out before you start the 3 day Amiibo move in process?(ie. someone asks to move, Amiibo day 1, boxes, Amiibo day 2, move out, Amiibo day 3?)

I think they meant the interior for the first 5 villagers. The first 2 have the absolute worst interiors, and the next 3 all have cookie cutter homes.

Yeah that would be the best thing to do but getting someone to move out is the issue lol

This is a glitch, no ? 🤨

Is it? I've had 2 amiibo villagers kick out existing villagers in my town and both have taken the same exterior as the previous villager.
It would make sense because the villager being kicked out goes into boxes straight away and the amiibo villager moves in the next day, so the house has no time to be taken down. Still think its kinda dumb though

So the best bet, if using amiibo, would be to do all tasks and just not ask them to move? Then when you have the free plot, just scan them to the campsite and move them that way.

If it's just exteriors, I wouldn't be too cut up about that. I like both exterior homes, as they are now. If it's interiors, I'm not sure I'd want Willow moving into Roald's ice house. ;)

interiors are fine i believe! But sometimes, if youre kicking out a villager with a terrible exterior/an exterior that really doesnt fit the villager moving in, it makes it a bit frustrating and out of place

That's because of TT.

As someone who hasn't time traveled, I have brought in 5 amiibos, and a 6th is on the way.

When you use an amiibo to kick a villager out. This is what happens

Day 1: Audie gets kicked out so Bob can move in
Day 1: Audie is now in boxes
Day 2: Audie is gone. Audie's house is also gone. Plot says "reserved for Bob"
Day 3: Bob is now in town, unboxing, and has his own house.
Day 4: Bob has unpacked, and he has his own furniture.

Thank you! Lopez and Roald are the villagers I plan to move out, but both of their exteriors fit into the neighborhoods very nicely. I guess I can scan in Lionel and Willow, respectively, then, without worry.

ETA: Oops! Didn't see JKDOS' post. I don't TT, so it sounds like it won't be an issue for me.

Does that mean its a glitch? I'd always thought it was just a normal thing

I would say so since it's probably not intended by Nintendo. It fails the stress test of QA. Sure the glitch is caused by irregular gameplay, but any glitch a player can purposely cause should be patched.

I'm hoping a future update might make their houses change to their themed houses at some point. It makes sense that they start out similar to your houses, but I wish as you gained furniture to your liking that they did as well.

I believe this only happens if you TT backwards, as all my amiibo villagers moved in with their corresponding exteriors since I was going forward 1 day at a time.
