Researching native flower mechanics! (poll)

Hello! I haven't seen anyone do this, and if someone has i guess it doesnt really hurt to try again, right?
I've been super curious how native flowers are determined, as well as the other flowers that are sold in your shop, so ive decided to make a poll for people to participate in so I can try and find out how it all works!

Basically fill in what your native flower is and what flowers you've seen sold in your shop before
In my experience, you're always guaranteed/almost guaranteed to see 3 flower types in your upgraded shop (e.g mine are pansies, windflowers and hyacinths) then you occasionally see a 4th (tulips for me)

Hopefully this works and people are interested in this because im genuinely curious! Some say its tied to birth month, some say its not. We'll find out!

If anyone has any solid info to bring to the table, e.g someones already heavily researched this and knows the answer, please let me know! From what ive seen though, people are almost sure but not 100% sure. I still think this is a good idea so we all have a bit more data to work with!

EDIT: Some people are saying theyve been able to get every single flower native just by resetting whilst keeping everything the same and ive also heard apparently flowers change based on the time of year? If anyone else has similar experiences let me know because im hearing so much conflicting information about this!

EDIT 2: Added a new question since someone mentioned a possible correlation between starting month and native flower/shop sold flowers. I also saw a lot of people saying their shop sold windflowers, and so i was interested You should be able to edit your responses!
Also a question about hemisphere.
You should be able to edit your previous entry, however if it doesnt work just send in a new one but make sure you keep your username in it!!

I saw you asking for birth month, star sign and hemisphere. And I thought I would mention that I have two switches with two islands. I reset my second island a bunch of times to get the flowers I was missing and was able to get every single flower type this way despite both characters sharing the same birthday, star sign and hemisphere.

oh wow! I heard from others that they spent almost days trying to get certain flowers but just couldnt. This really confuses me lol

I've had different flowers in the nooklings depending on the time of year, I've seen all flower types in the store except for cosmos (they elude me). I'm assuming its linked to the time of year? Maybe lief will help with flowers on earth day (I hope so, cause time travelling half a year into the future for a flower pack isn't fun)

Just got an update from the Data Mine on the new horizons discord, according to Ninji these are what determines flower types.
"the one that shows up on your cliffs is your "speciality flower" and is based off your birth month the one that shows up in your shop is your "village flower" and is based off the month you created your island"
the months are as follows (for northern hemisphere):

windflower - Dec-May,
hyacinth - Feb-Apr
tulip - Mar-Jun
rose - May-Jul, Oct-Dec
cosmos - Jul-Nov
lily - Jul-Sep
mum - Aug-Jan
pansy - Nov-Apr

And the third nooks cranny flower is determined by the month

I'm fairly certain this isn't true, or at least not completely. Neither of my starting flowers match this list, not do any of my friends that started on the same day.

I do think flowers in store might be linked to the season because I only had windflowers, pansies and mums and recently I got hyacinths?
Or maybe you need to get them from somewhere else to have them available in store after?

The only certainty is I didn't have them in store for 2/3 weeks and suddenly I started getting them.

This is for northern hemisphere, and this is according to the data miners in the discord. I'm not too certain how it all works but mine fit perfectly with what they posted. You can see it too, its the main New Horizons discord atm in the data mine channel.

Windflowers seem popular, this definitely makes me think there might be a correlation depending on what month you played the game perhaps?

I also added a question asking your hemisphere, although this isnt super important as i could possibly just guess based on where you live (but it wouldnt always be super accurate)
