Regretful Structures That You Can't Demolish - When Planning Goes Wrong

Something that has been bothering me lately is the fact that you can't demolish the police station once it's built. I don't understand why this is the case. Perhaps there is some sort of coding problem or glitch that would arise if you could demolish it, but it seems rather arbitrary. When I was first planning my city, I was planning on having the town square be the epicenter of all town-related services, so I placed the police station there, thinking it would be a good place for it. Later, I changed my mind and decided that the town square will be more or less a fruit orchard, but the police station's being there really clashes with that. Unfortunately, I can't move or demolish it now, so I'm just stuck with it.

Are there any things you regret building in Animal Crossing that you can't undo?

I regret my cafe & police station locations so much. There is this huge area of 3x4 behind my cafe that I can't do anything about other than plant spare flowers there. I squeezed my police station between town hall and the nearby cliff because I thought I was running out of space. I wasn't. But I've made it work and now I like that area. But still. There's nothing I can do unless there's a kind soul out there who can hold my stuff while I reset. Then again, there's no guarantee that I'll do better with my next map so I'll just work with what I've got.

I don't understand why you can't demolish or at least move non-mainstreet building PWPs... I'm second-guessing my choice of location for the campsite, but I'm gonna have to work with it since I like everything else about my town. I reset my previous town because I ended up hating where I put my cafe after I came up with a vision for the town. In my current town I am now VERY carefully considering where I wanna put my cafe lol

I kind of regret putting my campsite at the very bottom of the town. It's kind of hard to get to and it's just in a pretty awkward place to be in. But at the same time, it's kind of out of sight when it's unused, which is most of the time. I don't really like where I put my café though. It's in this narrow stretch of land that's kind of hard to get to. I figured I could build a bridge to make it easier to get there but it wouldn't even fit.

My town was full of regrets before I reset. My campsite's location wasn't great and my cafe location was ok but kind of cramped (I wanted it to be close to the plaza and this was the only spot I could use). That and villager houses because some of them were from when I started playing and didn't know how to reset for better locations.

i always regretted where i placed the roost; presently, there were probably things i could’ve done to make it work but back then, it’s placement left me feeling a bit stumped and made placing down paths that didn’t look messy or weirdly placed sort of hard aha c’:

I somewhat regret where I placed my campsite in Sakura. It was my first town and I was so excited to get the campsite built as early as possible so I could start getting villagers from it. At the time, I didn't really think I'd be doing much landscaping or decorating my town. I stuck the campsite in a corner of the map between the Event Plaza and a cliff. In hindsight, I wish I had put more thought into it's placement and tucked it away somewhere more forested. But I worked with it and I think it's okay now.

For a long time, I also wished that I had placed the Police Station just one tile over to the right. It's just a touch too close to the river bend in my opinion, but I made it work as well.

My house. I put it in the stupidest place with the most useless land in front of and behind it 😔

Omg same the entrance to my roost is sooo cramped

The placement of rocks on my island is the absolute worst; they always find some way to interfere with my building plans.

I think this is probably the one thing I’m happy with in my town, which is holding me back from resetting—rock placement. I only have 6. They’re not in any open areas and I’ve worked them into my town layout somehow. I don’t think I’ll be so lucky next time.

Oh, another thing, I can’t stand seeing dirt patches and right now there’s only one that bothers me. So it’s one of those things that make me grateful for my current little town :)

I always hate where I put my campsite in every town. I want the campsite to be "secluded" because I don't like the PWP itself when there are no campers.. but making it secluded always ends up taking up way too much space in town.

I've never really struggled with the permanent rock placement woes. Even if there's a rock in the way of my path, I'm usually fine with making the path go right through it haha!

I managed to make mine secluded by putting it in an area of the map with no foot traffic (a dead end I guess right beside the cliff) and then growing bamboo on the sides of it. I also got it as close to the tracks as possible so i didn't have any space behind if either. After putting some more trees and rocks, it's looks pretty out of the way :)

My Cafe is at the very bottom of my town and I can’t seem to ever get over it. There is a ton of space behind it, so just wasted space. I also regret my own house placement too. It is very close to like 3 rocks, so pathways around it have silly rocks on them. Finally I regret my placement of my third character THE WORST. I placed his house right on the sage of a cliff, and a pathway cannot fit in front. I don’t want to get rid of the house tho, cos it’s upgraded heaps and I love the character development I’ve given him (ik, I’m cringing too)
