Recommended date to start a town catching up to real-time?

I've got a lot of time on my hands, and I really want to reset, any suggestions/tips? (Also, if you've got any spare time between 4pm-7pm EST tomorrow [10/30/18], and you'd like to hold items, please PM me)

I just went through a gnar reset and lemme tell ya;
Its a pain.
#1 tip- DONT SETTLE FOR A CRAPPY MAP.
It took me 3 days to find one acceptable and its worth it.
Try to save any hybrids/reg flowers you have cause the new town is very barren. If nook is gonna buy your town, sont sell him your catalog. It makes things easier to decorate your new house and finding certain gracie-themed clothing sucks. Youll be able to order stuff through the kiosk once the t-mart upgrades for the first time.

Thanks for the advice, but what date do you think I should start at? Like, a year back or a couple of years back like coldeggman is doing on his ACNL:WA 100% Let's Play?

Oh gosh. Do you time travel? If not, just set the date to current. If you do time travel, set time a month behind current. I definitely tt a lot the first couple weeks because you can do a whole lot in the beggining

For 3 of my towns, I use whatever date my system says, which is the real time. It helps me keep track of what day I started the town on and makes it easy for me to check the progress of my town. Ex Treehut was made July 20th 2018. It's now Oct irl, Jan in my game, so I can see how much progress I made in my town.

Not as much as I'd like. Deena is holding me back.

But for my next town, I plan in traveling aaaall the way back to the release date of ACNL I'm NA, the same date my first town was ever made. I guess it's really just a preference.

Hmm, I've started as far back as a year, I think at least about 2 to 4 months but potentially you could go back as far as you want!. That should allow you enough time to get all the big things done and get yourself some nice trees and flowers and upgrades. My sister is playing in April right now and it's beautiful. I started in August a few weeks ago (if you plan a big time travel make sure someone you don't want to keep is moving out so you don't lose anyone good)

I'd say a couple months. THen you can make bigger TTing jumps. I personally go back and forth. Few days ahead and then back

A few months is enough to establish all the major PWPs like the roost/club LOL and then get you back to current day (whilst making the tree timeline look realistic)

just... start at the current date and then go backwards back to the current date when done?

tting backwards always only counts as one day forwards by game logic, so it shouldn't make any huge difference
