recommendations for easy-to-use animation software?

i've been sorta wanting to get into some deeper animation but first i need to find a software for it, and i figured i'd ask u clowns on tbt your opinions.

the extent of my experience with animation software is mostly flipnote studio and some butterfly: inchworm animation ii. i tried opentoonz because it was supposed to be easy enough, but i ended up getting confused and frustrated due to crashing so i gave up on it. for context, i'm using a sorta old laptop running on windows 8.1 i think.

so, animators of tbt, any ideas?
