Please feel free to use the thread to talk about TV shows in general!

I'm looking for some genuiniely good TV shows to watch! I've finished all the good ones: Office, Kim's Convenience, Rick and Morty, Bojack and the like, and I'm really looking for some awesome and funny 20 min TV Shows. Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance!

Please no friends, himym or any similar shows btw xD I've watched them and dropped them, they're simply not good enough.

The person who recommends me the show I end up watching and loving next gets free tbt from me!

The firsts shows that come to my mind are: Brooklyn99 and New Girl. They are both extremely funny, in my opinion of course, but only B99 is a 20m show
New Girl has so well structured characters and lines that are memorable. While probably B99 has funnier lines. And sometimes they also try with more real, serious topic
Otherwise, if you like sarcastic grumpy men and dumb himbos, go for The Ranch! (But maybe also The Ranch is longer than 20m per episode)

Not sure if British humor is your cup of tea, but I would recommend Monty Python's Flying Circus (and obviously, their movies too, especially Holy Grail).

I don’t know if you’ve already tried it but I adore The Good Place to a ridiculous level. I live for fun group dynamics /ensemble writing in comedy shows (which also sells me on Community a lot) and this hits that and combines a sitcom set up with bizarre world building and many existential crises ~ Also the casting is amazing 🤩
Oh no I made myself want to rewatch it again

My favorite is an older reality show that has a new season coming next month.
Impractical Jokers.
4 best friends compete to embarrass each other.
If you've not seen it, here is a sample.

I loved Schitt's Creek so much! It might take some time to warm up to the characters but it's so worth it! It's basically a riches to rags story. It's so fun and so charming and has some of the best writing ever. The cast is very talented and it has so many memorable moments that I watch over and over again. Please give it a try!

I'll put in a third vote for Community, especially if you like Rick and Morty because it's by the same creator. I'm about to finish the series for the first time and it's definitely my new favourite show. Watching this weirdo school do it's thing every night has just given me so much joy.

Does the show in question have to be currently airing or are you okay with shows that have already ended?

B99 is a classic! Can't tell you how many times I've watched it. New Girl is also v funny! I've been meaning to finish it haha maybe I'll get back to it!

I love British humor! Which reminds me I have to check out the original Office lol. I'll check this out!

Oh god you have no idea how much I love this show. I weeped like a waterfall in the final episode. So beautiful.

Lmao this looks so freaking funny. Let me check this out!

Yes yes yes yes a hundred times yes! Schitt's Creek is actually one of the shows I was absolutely planning to watch next. It looks absolutely stunning, the cast seems so loveable and I totally feel like I'll get hooked on to it. I will check this out and let you know what I think!!

Community! The first few episodes are insanely good. It’s on Netflix and super binge-able

I've already watched Community twice! Insanely hilarious show, and the humor is top notch. I absolutely adore Dan Harmon's writing.

I actually love shows that have finished airing! I tend to wait for shows to finish airing so I can binge watch them instead of waiting all the time lmao.

I recommend The IT Crowd if you don't mind British comedies. It is hilarious and the cast is so amazing.

This looks so intriguing, I will check it out!! British comedies are so interesting. Thank you so much :p

friday night dinner is a good british comedy imo. it's one of the few i've watched, and it makes me laugh a lot most of the time. warning for swearing though, just in case. i vaguely remember miranda being funny, but i haven't seen it in years. if you're ever interested in panel-based shows, 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, and big fat quiz of the year/decade/everything are great too, especially depending on which comedians are on.

Hahaha whaa I can't believe I haven't heard of these shows! SO intriguing lol and no I don't mind swearing xD I will check these out!!

probably because they're all british shows lmao. FND is on the british netflix, at least. don't know about miranda. the panel shows are largely on youtube, but you can find the episodes that aren't elsewhere online if that helps.

hahah finding places to watch is never a problem! Problem is actually finding shows to watch because most people watch the generic popular stuff(B99, friends etc.) and that stuff gets very very stale just from hearing people talk about them. I'll watch an episode of FND tonight and feel it out!

if you appreciate dry/relatable humor then I definitely would recommend King of the Hill. I've watched every episode multiple times and they always make me laugh.

I saw someone already recommended The Good Place, which I thoroughly enjoyed. If you're into anime, Maid Sama is on Netflix, has nice short 20 minute episodes, and the English dub is actually hilarious.

That sounds so interesting! I have to ask, what is the show about?

Ive watched both :p not so much into anime but I've watched most of the good ones! Maybe it's time for a rewatch haha.

If you haven't seen Flight of the Conchords, you're really missing out. It's about 2 New Zealanders who are trying to make it in America. They have musical parody numbers in every episode. Taika Waititi (Thor Ragnarok and JoJo Rabbit) wrote and directed a few of the episodes.

You mentioned you like British humor. I really recommend Extras. It's by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. It's about an extra (background actor) who wants to take on serious acting roles, but deep-down he just wants to be famous. There are tons of celebrity cameos, where the celebrities play exaggerated/fake versions of themselves, contrary to their real personality.

Examples: Patrick Stewart, a Shakespearian, knighted actor in real life, is obsessed with women's clothing falling off in goofy, contrite scenarios. Here's Orlando Bloom being an absolute narcissist and trying to convince one of the main characters that he's handsome:

Another British show I love is Spaced by Simon Pegg.

Based on the shows you listed, you might like Archer and Bob's burgers as well.
